I know what you’re thinking: Emma, why would you think that? (And honestly, I wasn’t sure until I was talking it over with @tsc-reader )

Well, this theory hinges on two main, plot-driven points:

1) That Magnus is quite heavily involved in the whole Ty-Livvy necromancy ordeal, as well as Livvy’s stability as a ghost/wayward spirit (which Kit is also quite heavily involved in, whether he likes it or not)

2) that the TMI gang are going to be in another realm [at some point] during TBVOTD, which occurs, chronologically, in line with TLKOF. (I also theorise that the realm they’re going to end up in is either Thule, or Lucifer’s realm. The former seems more plausible, given that the book is named after the Black Volume.)

Picture this: Magnus goes missing. This, as a result, impacts Livvy’s stability as a ghost and wayward spirit, corrupting her and causing her to fall a little out of touch with the present, waking world, which inevitably has an impact on Ty’s state of being as it is. Ty, being the intelligent little detective he is, brings it all back to the fact that Magnus has disappeared, and decides there is no other choice but to track him down — but can’t do it alone, not with Livvy’s current state taking its toll on him. And the only person who knows about Livvy, who can help him, is Kit. Who will, as we know, agree to help.

On the flip side, naturally the TMI gang (especially Alec) are going to freak the fuck out when Magnus goes missing and do everything they can to track him down. This includes, but is not limited to, inter-dimensional travel (they’ve done it before!! They can do it again!!) Somehow, through investigating, searching and seeking (and possibly with some help from our buddies Kit and Ty) the gang’s gonna track down where Magnus has gone and jump down that rabbit hole in search of them.
