You show your psychiatrist the (dated!) tattoo design that you have had for a year and tell him about your plans to get the tattoo as soon as you finish your research and visit the places you were recommended, and show him your three previous tattoos, and he immediately questions this as impulsive behavior and starts looking for evidence of mania. And then tells you that he will be "very disappointed" if you get it without calling him first, meaning you have to schedule your appointment for a weekday instead of a weekend to fit his schedule or risk being marked as noncomp.

If you looked even closer you’d find that it said people with BPD aren’t inherentky abusive. You can still be abusive, of course, but having BPD does not mean that you are an abuser. If you are actively working on your symptoms and are not manipulating others to get what you want you are not abusive. People with mental illnesses can be abusive, but having one doesn’t mean you always are.
