The texture is a velvety water gel cream that turns into a water consistency when you spread onto skin. It absorbs nicely into skin and doenst leave being a greasy feeling or stickiness behind. It gives you a dewy glow and makes your skin appear more plump. While this would be a great day cream, especially in the summer months, it’s just not moisturizing enough for me at night or the colder months.

As for cons, while low on the ingredient list, it does contain fragrance and alcohol which might not be suitable for those with sensitive skin. I didn’t see any reduced appearance of pores in one jar and some sample packets. I would recommend this to those with oily or combination skin.

Tatcha Calming The Rice Polish Is a non abrasive, water activated exfoliant made of Japanese rice bran that transforms to a creamy foam. This powder provides effective cleansing without stripping skin of moisture or breaking the skin’s barrier leaving your skin smooth with a healthy glow. The Calming is recommended for those with sensitive skin.

The texture a very finely ground rice that when activated by water it turns into a foam that is cloud like and creamy. You don’t need much for it to be effective, around 1/4 tsp.. The cloud like foam feels like silk as you massage into the skin. I love how gentle this is and that it doesn’t strip my skin. Has helped to calm my occasionally irritated skin and it has reduce some redness, only slightly though. My skin is noticeably brighter and it has helped refine the texture along cheeks. My skin is softer and more smooth after using. My biggest con, which is new since this is my second bottle, it seems like the formula has changed in the past 1-2 years? I never had an issue with this one drying my face but this new jar leaves my face feeling slightly dry.

Tatcha Polish Classic Rice Enzyme Powder

Is a non abrasive, water activated exfoliant made of Japanese rice bran that transforms to a creamy foam. This powder provides effective cleansing without stripping skin of moisture or breaking the skin’s barrier leaving your skin smooth with a healthy glow. The Classic is recommended for combination to dry skin. Key Ingredients:

- Hadasei-3™ consists of Tatcha’s Proprietary Complex of Rice, Algae, Green Tea helps restore a healthy looking radiance. - Amino acids and AHAs (lactic acid) from double fermentation to resurface and plump the skin

The texture a very finely ground rice that when activated by water it turns into a foam that is cloud like and creamy. Instructions say to use 1/2 teaspoon but I find that to be to much. I would say half of that is all you need. It cleanses and gently exfoliates the skin well, doesn’t irritate my skin. Although this says “daily physical exfoliant” and says it can be used twice a day, while gentle, I personally wouldn’t use twice day. Also the water/powder ratio is important! It helps to minimize my pores and leaves my skin feeling softer and more smooth. My only cons I have is that it contains alcohol so therefore it can leave my skin feeling slightly dry but not uncomfortably so. Once I continue with my routine my skin feels hydrated, moisturized, and has a healthy glow. My go to has always been Dermalogica Microfoliant Exfoliator and will probably remain that way considering I get more product for a cheaper price with similar results.

- Papaya Enzymes gently removes dead skin cells from the top layer of skin helping to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion

I have tried many enzyme powder cleansers and this is by far my favorite. It’s actually what it says it is, gentle. Many of the powder cleansers I’ve tried can be rough, but what’s great about this one is how Tatcha has ground the rice so finely it’s like a dust. I use every every two days. You only need about 1/2 a teaspoon worth. I mix with water in my hands and rub them together until it creates a foam. This is where one of my cons comes in. I don’t find that this foams well. It’s a very light. It feels smooth on skin and my face always feels clean and refreshed after using. You get the exfoliation you need without the irritated skin with this. Over time I have noticed texture even out and my skin has become baby smooth with a nice natural glow. I would recommend this to anyone who has dry or combination skin.

- Price. $65 is still a bit steep for a enzyme powder and find it to be overpriced

Tatcha The Silk Powder is a talc-free, protective setting powder that helps to blur pores, shield from pollution and blue light, and gives a translucent, soft finish. The two key ingredients are the silk extract and Japanese pearl powder. The amino acids found in silk are similar to ones found in human skin. This helps create a veil aka second skin that helps protect your skin throughout the day. Formulated with:

- Silk Extract helps maintain moisture balance

- Japanese Pearl Powder helps to make makeup last, blur the look of pores, and reduce the appearance of shine

- Anti-Pollution and Blue Light Ingredients create a smooth surface on the skin to help resist pollution particles, while partially deflecting blue light rays

This, along with the Liquid Silk Canvas Primer, are my favorite Tatcha products. I’ve tried it with and without the primer and personally I find that it works best with the primer. It is said to be translucent but the powder has a flesh like color so it may not be translucent on those with dark skin tones. Depends on the day but I’ll either use a brush or puff. It goes on smoothly and evenly. It’s buildable but honestly you don’t need to build with it. It blurs my pores, face appears smoother, more even, not cakey, and gives me a nice soft finish with a subtle glow. It controls my oil all day but I wouldn’t say it necessarily makes my make up last much longer than it already was and I don’t see any blurring with fine lines. I don’t want to say it tops my Laura Mercier Setting Powder just yet but it’s close!

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is a oil-free gel cleanser with a natural fruit exfoliant that gently lifts impurities and unclogs pores while still leaving skin soft and hydrated.

Formulated with:

- Japanese Luffa fruit Exfoliant helps hydrate, clarify, and soothe damaged skin

- Japanese Wild Rose helps to balance the skin and diminishes the appearance of pores

- Tatcha's Signature Hadasei-3 helps to restore a healthy and youthful radiance to the skin

I’m a big fan of Dermalogica’s Special Cleansing Gel but got this with points at Sephora to try something different. The texture is a gel with fruit fibers that you can see in the gel but it doesn’t feel abrasive. You only need a dab of this so it does last for awhile considering the price is $38. I didn’t find this to be as creamy in lather as some other gel cleansers I’ve used. Occasionally once rinsed off my skin feels slightly dry but not uncomfortable. My skin does feel more smooth with each use and it gives me a subtle glow. I did notice the appearance of my pores were smaller than usual but I didn’t see any improvement in the excess oil in my tzone. I’m glad I got to try it but I will continue to stick to my Dermalogica Cleansing Gel.

If you are sensitive to fragrances or have sensitive skin I would not recommend this for you to use. Im not sensitive to them but some of Tatcha’s products are strong in their signature fragrance. Personally speaking, some of Tatcha products would be top tier for me if they didn’t use fragrance so much.
