Luke honestly had to think about that one for a bit. Life certainly started to blend together without an actual schedule to keep him on task, and with a low murmur he answered, “The 28th I was at--the Blue Caterpillar? She walked out of the make-up room at the sight of the clock turning 12 PM. It wasn’t a rehearsal day today, so the theatre was mostly empty, except for a few people wandering around doing work. The interviewer entered the hallway, walking decidedly towards Marley. “Hi, so nice to meet you,” Marley greeted, flashing her signature big smile. “I’m very excited for this interview.”

They took a short walk in the hallway as Marley gave her a brief tour backstage, trying her best to appear confident and someone who knew what she was doing (and saying). They ended up in the make-up room, sitting in one chair each, facing each other. 

The interviewer started off with some small talk, which helped Marley feel a bit more at ease, before starting to ask questions for the article. “If you had your pick for the next role you were to play, what would it be?”

Marley knew the answer to that, although she wasn’t sure if she wanted to jinx it by putting it out into the world. “Hm,” she mumbled, pretending to give the question a thought. Well, now she had to say it. “I love Carole King. This is sort of a secret, but she inspired me to write songs. I haven’t done it in a while, but she is a big inspiration. So, when I found out there was a musical based on her and her music, I freaked out.” She laughed, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “If it’s still around in a couple of years, I would love to get the chance to play Carole King.” 

The interviewer was intrigued by the songwriting secret, quickly writing it down in their notes. “Is releasing own music a goal for the future or maybe your next career path?” 

“Oh, I’m not so sure,” Marley said shyly. “I haven’t considered it, and the few songs I have written are not ready for public yet.” She hoped the topic would fade rather quickly, considering it really wasn’t something she wished to focus on, especially considering it was a promotional interview for Voice.

“So,” the interviewer continued. “A lot of the cast seem to be pretty new in the theatre sphere, but there are some experienced people both in the cast and in the production. How do you feel that the cast have been getting along?”

Marley chuckled nervously, intertwining her hands together and resting them on her lap as she searched her mind for a proper way to answer. “It’s a very interesting dynamic. We’re all very excited for this production and we all believe in in greatly. I think we’re good at supporting each other, especially the newer ones who aren’t as experienced. And the experienced ones are really good mentors and give us the guidance we need to be the best we can be for each other.” She gave herself a mental pat on the shoulder for the answer, hoping it didn’t come off as fake. 

“You’ve just started to rehearse for the musical, but have you already found a favorite part of the musical you’re excited for the audience to see or to play out yourself?”

"I don’t wanna give too much away,” she laughed. “I might get in trouble.” The interviewer smiled politely, letting out a small chuckle that looked like a pity laugh so that she wouldn’t sit there laughing by herself. “I do have a favorite part as of right now, although it might change later. Like I said, I’m trying not to give anything away, but there are a couple of songs that are really, really good that I’m hoping the audience will like as well. One of them might become the new ‘Let It Go’.”
