TRIBUTE
@irathgo @smellofsnoww @luna-rein
Poor poor Keir.
**************
Keir stood in the empty open underground parking garage. Not many cars around and most of the lights were out and it didn't help that not much moonlight could get in. He kept his hands in his pockets to keep his fingers from freezing.
Firstly the guy he was partnered with disappeared after saying he had a call from the boss. But it's been ten minutes now and he has this damn bag filled with who knows what. Something about a tribute for the gang they'll be working with.
It's the only thing they ask for before trading or working with anyone else. He never got to find out what the tribute was but he guesses the bag is mostly filled with money and drugs. He guessed the tribute was a taste of what they had to offer. Well he understands wanting to impress this gang they were probably the most powerful around. They're not in Keir's radar and he would also rather leave them alone.
He's reckless but not to the point of wanting an early grave at least not yet.
He pulled his phone out. They were supposed to be here an hour ago and he was wrong, his 'partner' has been gone for 20 minutes.
He began to call for further instructions, maybe someone can tell him what to do.
Before he could, someone shot at his phone and he dropped it in shock. He pulled out his gun, aiming it at whoever was there. He couldn't hide the garage was mainly empty with no cars and the beams were far apart.
He glanced at his phone,it was busted, he'll need a new one.
There was laughter that came from shadows, he tensed up. Then all the lights came on. He thought they were busted but it seems it was on purpose. How long have they been there? Watching him. He didn't even realize anyone was there.
It was a large group all of them canes for this one thing.
Someone walked forward. A large bulking man and he towered over everyone. Keir looked up at the man, his greyish black hair loosely falling down on his face. He looked like he was assessing Keir, a frown growing each passing second.
Though barely audible Keir swore he heard that man mutter something. "Another weak one." He wasn't sure but that's what he heard.
He walked back, entering a car Keir had just noticed.
He blinked at the weird introduction, the man didn't even look at the bag. Someone else over walked to grab the bag from Keir.
Something was wrong, Keir instincts told him.
In a split second he moved out of the way right before the large wooden bat hit him. Then he used the bag that was still in his hand and hit the attacker, sending him to the wall. He groaned but didn't get up.
What's going on here? He thought as chaos erupted and they all lunged at him with an excitement resembling animals going for a hunt.
He fought as many as he could, taking a few hits on himself. He was so busy that he didn't see the large man walk out of the car. He had the same look of excitement as the rest of them but so much more sinister.
"You're a good tribute." He said at this point everyone stopped fighting and gave them room.
Keir looked up at him puzzled. He was tired from the fighting and barely able to hold his breath but he couldn't have heard that wrong, right? He's the tribute?
The hulking man grabbed Keir's head, his whole arm covering his face and without warning he pushed Keir to the nearest wall slamming his head with such force Keir felt like his skull cracked.
His head rang and everything hurt. He could barely think as everything was getting dark. He fell to the ground, blinking out at the ceiling.
They men all looked so proud. How were they all taller than him all of a sudden, he was laying down, but he was moving and his leg was being held up. The floor was rough. He looked at the back of the large man, he was the one dragging him. Keir couldn't protest he felt too weak.
"We're going home." The man said as he lifted Keir off the ground and roughly placed him in the trunk of his car.
He groaned as it made the pain worse.
His smile was the only thing Keir saw before everything blacked.
**************
He thrashed against the chairs restraints as the water was poured over his head again.
When he was brought he learnt that a tribute wasn't any merchandise or money. It was a play thing someone they could toy with. Practically someone to torture for fun.
The large man's name is Jeremy and he seemed really excited that Keir has been able to hold his own so far. Too excited cause it's like the torture keeps going up a notch.
They pulled him up. He gasped trying to get as much air in. He was drenched and cold. They removed the wet towel over his head.
He glared at all of them as he tried to catch his breath.
"You're doing well." Jeremy commended. He was the one holding the next bucket of water. "Most tributes wouldn't have lasted so long, they were all so boring." He complained.
"I feel for you." He said with anger filled sarcasm.
Jeremy laughed. "Don't worry…. Eric is it?" He said as he started getting ready. That was the alias he was using.
Before Keir could say anything, the towel was placed over his head again and he was pushed back.
"I'll treat you well." Jeremy said then the water came pouring down on him again.
He struggled against the restraints but that was no use, he was firmly tied to the chair. He doesn't even know how long they've been at this. He just wants it to end.
Jeremy told him this is level one. There are five levels and if he goes through all of them he can leave.
If he gets out of this he's going to find the motherfucker that screwed him over and kill him.
Jeremy stopped and Keir was pulled up again, the towel over his face was removed.
He coughed, panting heavily, he nearly blacked out.
Jeremy looked in the bucket with a smile on his face. Keir thought that was good.
"We're out of water." He laughed at that. Like he was having so much fun with this.
Keir breathed a sigh of relief.
"That means you pass." Jeremy announced proudly.
"Splen….did." Keir said completely exhausted. He's lucky this didn't go on any longer.
"You're funny." Jeremy said.
Then he dropped his bucket down and snapped his finger. Giving orders for someone to hand him something in his now empty palm.
The person came back and Jeremy's grin grew wide and Keir's eyes did the same.
Jeremy tested the little device in his hand, happy with the crackling sound it made. Blue sparks flew between the metal pieces.
"Does water make it hurt more?" Jeremy asked with a sinister smile.
He inched closer and Keir thrashed some more, trying to get away. But he couldn't move fast enough and before he knew it. Jeremy sent volts of electricity through him.
His muscles contracted with electric current, he kept it in for as long as he could but it hurt too much and he screamed.
Then Jeremy stopped and Keir slumped forward, knocked out from the taser.
They undid his restraints and he fell forward hitting the ground. He only released a weak groan then went silent.
