Sometimes I actually wonder what goes on inside my head.
but only sometimes
Here's a fun fact about Spidops: Spidops can lay 30-300 eggs in a clutch (the size of the eggs are the tip of your finger, dw, the spidops is fine). After the spidops lays the eggs, it will then make a large egg sac, tie it to their back, and carry it around. This allows it to watch the eggs and make sure no harm comes to them while also allowing it to continues it's daily activities. Once the eggs hatch, the young tarountula will chew their way through the silk that allows them to go in and out of their mother's back. They cling onto their mother for around 2 weeks before their size becomes too much for the mother and they leave.
(Example of what that looks like. Spidops usually walk on all eights, but she got up on her hind legs because something made her curious).
What would a spidops/araquanid crossbreed look like? Would they still have the water bubble over their head like the father?
They wouldn't have the water bubble, as they aren't aquatic and need to have the water bubble to survive on land. They can make tiny air bubbles around their head when underwater, though they aren't as durable as Araquanid because they don't have the water typing to reinforce them. They go underwater for 3-5 minutes, mostly in search of food.
Pokemon Crossbreeds: Diving Bell
Diving Bell is the breed name for members of the Spidops line whose father is a member of the Araquanid line. The line gets its name from a common nickname for dewpider, "Diving Bell", because their body shape looks like a bell (if you squint) and they sometimes jump off of trees and into the water.
Tarountula
Diving Bell tarountula make their webs on trees above or near lakes or ponds. To get food, tarountula dive into the water in search of small bugs (sometimes even Dewpider if food is scarce). The webs they make collect a lot of rain drops, which cause the webs to glitter in sunlight. This has earned them the nickname, "Glittering Spider." The silk they make is incredibly durable and water does not damage their webs.
Spidops
Diving Bell Spidops claim entire lakes/ponds as their territory, and they don't like it when other Spidops come into it. They mark their territory by diving underwater and covering the underwater rocks and ground with sticky webs. While regular spidops hunt and eat their prey at the same time, Diving Bell spidops bring their food back to their webs, sometimes even without killing them, to save them for later. Despite its aggression when it comes to other Spidops and larger bugs, they don't mind smaller bugs, and they've been known to let tarountula/dewpider eat food and rest on their webs.
Safe to breed?: Yes. There is a height difference, but it isn't big enough for it to became a major issue (not getting into the sex lives of these pokemon, but if you know how spiders breed, you know it's not a problem). Females if both species also stick around to raise their young while the male leaves, so it's not an issue when it comes to raising them as well.
