I want to challenge you. Name some of your favourite songs by the artists that are Not mentioned in your pinned post
Oh yeah that's good. Had to check my pin post what the hell I even put on it lol. But I have lot of old fave outside of that, bc most arists on my pinned post are mostly new favourites for me...
Throw down the sword and Warrior - Wishbone Ash
Holy Diver - Dio: the only song that I more or less can play on my bass guitar!
Doctor doctor - Ufo: essential listen to every Maiden fan!
Children of the Sea - Black Sabbath: Ronnie James Dio is like the greatest heavy metal singer ever!!!
Close to the edge - Yes: probably top 3 long prog rock song
Spiritual Healing and A Moment of Clarity - Death: when I was in my last years of high school, I listened to Death every time I was working out! also. Spiritual Healing has the heaviest riff everrrrr
Reverie/Harlequin Forest and The Night and the Silent Water - Opeth: I was obsessed with Opeth in my first two years of university. every time I listen to early, black metal inspired Opeth, I can see myself walking in a cold, dark, scandinavian forest. which I did in my when I was doing Erasmus!
Hot Stuff - Donna Summer: it's a vibe, it's fun, it's good for walking
Holy Wars... the Punishment Due - Megadeth: insane build up
Mirror and Woman is a tree - The Last Dinner Party: let's throw in a new fave. I hope they are continuing the little art rocky direction of the second album (and not doing just more rock and pop)
Stigma, Valaki jár a fák hegyén and Ki viszi? - Platon Karataev: the hungarian band I was waiting for <3
My nostalgic, old hungarian favourites:
Don Quijote, 220 felett and Santa Maria - Neoton FamĂlia: Bonny M-esque hungarian band with stupid songs that were the absolute staples of every family party I had attended. you know, the "let's do karaoke" types lol
A Walesi bárdok, Szent László and Szondi két apródja - Dalriada: hungarian folk metal band, adapting one of the most iconic hun poet, Arany János. i was so annoying about this in high school.
A háború gyermeke and Kár minden szó - Pokolgép: Kalapács era of Pokolgép is probably essential to every hungarian kid who becomes interested in heavy metal. a horribly sounding band. recording techniques and studios were not exactly refined in Hungary up until... 2010s? (reminder again: fuck the soviet union)
Agyarország, Mikor a srác..., A legjobb méreg, Ezen a földön etc. - Tankcsapda: my first favourite band, I was 11. Tcs was my father's favourite band (alongside Metallica) since he was a teen; he was on the first Tcs tour, he bought their first EP cassette. I lived and breathed this band for years. my first concert was Tankcsapda. I had seen them live at least 12 times, which is the most of any artist for me. I knew every lyrics and song. I worshipped the frontman/lyricist/main writer, Lukács László. I was so disappointed when he started to get in line and friendly with the Fidesz government (which I hated since 2013. some of us were there since age 13 lol) and started releasing flop musing. they lost me around 2019-20. it was really hard for me to get over this disappointment (and I guess I never entirely did)
