Headcanon that Chung Myung and Tang Bo are both asexual and never have sex or get into an explicitly romantic relationship, but instead use romance as a debuff towards the other.
Some examples of what that would look like
Chung Myung and Tang Bo are abt to spar and Tang Bo gives him a small kiss right before it and Chung Myung flatlines, totally spaces out, gets completely caught off guard. Tang Bo doesn't win the spar but he takes great pride in the angry blush on Chung Myung's face.
Right before a large battle starts and Tang Bo is readying his dagger, Chung Myung brings the dagger to his lips and gives it a "good luck kiss." After the battle Tang Bo cusses him out in a flustered mess. He ended up getting nicked by someone because he almost didn't throw his good luck dagger at his enemies. Chung Myung calls him an idiot. Tang Bo makes Chung Myung kiss that dagger again after he cleans it of blood and it becomes his designated 12th dagger from then on.
When Chung Myung is unnecessarily angry at someone Tang Bo will use compliments and a gentle hug to bring him down. It works almost every time.
If Tang Bo is training but Chung Myung has finished, he likes to find a good spot and take in the view, or shout distracting insults with a cheeky smile, which is actually just advice disguised as an insult. Tang Bo can only allow Chung Myung to watch, because otherwise they'll just end up sparring. He becomes both encouraged and embarrassed and is always particularly clingy towards Chung Myung directly after.
Tang Bo calls Chung Myung "my other half" because of their title, Ssangjon, "Twin Sovereigns." Chung Myung beats Tang Bo up after he calls him that but he always becomes noticeably softer towards Tang Bo, so the Tang makes sure to use it excessively.
No one thinks they're in a relationship until Tang Bo is being publicly criticized by some Tang Clan elders one day, and Chung Myung gives Tang Bo a brief kiss, to distract him for long enough to let Chung Myung personally beat up the offenders.
Anyway asexual low-romantic TangChung is my favorite <3333
I bring Tangcheong gifts

If I have a nickel for every favorite ship of mine that includes the MC and his dead best friend(s) who had already died before canon even began yet keep haunting the narrative, I would have 3 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice.
Tang Bo is literally that very dead wife of the main character from the movies, and in my opinion, it would be funny if everyone around Cheong Myeong thought the same way. Well, because who else could be the person whom the Mad Dog recalls with a soft smile on his face? Only a husband. Or a wife.
Tang Soso flinched from an intense gaze, and after looking at its source, she saw none other than her Sahyun, drunk as a lord. Who was looking at her with unfocused eyes.
"Cheong Myeong?"– asked Baek Cheon, sitting closest to him. –"Did something happen?" Everyone sitting at the table and drinking alcohol, the Five Swords along with the monk, exchanged glances.
"Mm. Tang Bo would have liked it here..."
"Ah, it hit him again."
"Maybe he should quit drinking."
Cheong Myeong looked irritably at the whispering chicks.
"What's wrong with you all again?"
They all exchanged glances again.
"You really don't understand?"
Cheong Myeong looked at them as if they were a bit dim.
"You mention him constantly when you get drunk!" Jo Geol cried out.
"When was that?!"
"Do you want us to actually count? Even at the Shaolin tournament, you constantly lamented that if he were here, he would have relieved your boredom!"
"Especially when you visit the Tang Clan. All one ever hears from you is: 'Ah, but Tang Bo'!" Tang Soso nodded.
"Every time it's bad." added Sago.
Cheong Myeong only scratched his cheek, slightly embarrassed. Yes, perhaps there had been a few... dozens of times... Or hundreds...
Sighing, Cheong Myeong raised his gaze to the sky.
"So we've understood that you were married, just tell us which of you is the wife and which is the husband."
"WHAT?! We were best friends!. Besides, he's already dead!"
...
For a moment, an oppressive silence hung in response to such a serious answer.
"A dead wife?"
"..."
"...Husband?"
"Sago. Why you, of all people.."
Cheong Myeong pressed his head against his knees, and his ears turned red, clearly not from the alcohol.
[ Pov: Chung Myung dies instead of Tang Bo ]
