Funny that you ask that because I originally intended to include it, but cut it out for time 👀

I got rid of my og script but here’s basically the gist of what I had in mind.

It’s more like Stonerun is the distant one and Axel is just following suit after her “mother” made it clear she wants nothing to do with her.

Imagine this occurs in between Moon 33 and Moon 34. Although she hasn’t fully recovered from giving birth, Axel feels like she’s suffocating inside the nursery’s stuffy, cavern walls (they sometimes remind her of the cage she used to live in) and she’s grateful when Bluegale offers to look after her litter while she goes outside and stretch her legs out in the clan’s territory. She also decides it’s the perfect opportunity to get familiar with her new home.

While out and about, she comes across a face that she never thought she’d see again in her lifetime— her mother! She’s ecstatic to see her, even more so when she catches the scent of TallClan on her pelt. At this point, she hasn’t had time to familiarize herself with her new clanmates and Stonerun had no idea that the new queen Mulberrystripe had brought was her own daughter.

Needless to say, Stonerun is not particularly happy about this new development. TallClan was supposed to be the start of a new life with a new name, a new identity, and a devoted, loving husband by her side. It was easy for her to forget about her past, but now, not anymore with Axel’s arrival. So, when confronted by Axel, Stonerun is quick to act like she doesn’t know her and dismisses her like she’s a confused, lost kit. She was never really attached to her anyway, so it comes easy for her to act like she isn’t her child.

Axel is devastated by this. She’s had mixed feelings about her mother. She always knew Stonerun was dismissive and unattached throughout her childhood, but she always just chalked it off as something normal (after all it was just the two of them in a small enclosure seperated from the rest of the world). She was hurt when she left her behind, but as her eyes opened to the kitten mill’s horrible ways, she came to kind of understand her decision and silently forgive her.

For a split second, when Axel first saw her, she envisioned a teary reunion between the two and a new sense of warmth knowing that someone familiar was with her in the clan. However, now reality has broken in and she’s realized she’s truly on her own with just her kits by her side.

In the original draft of the story, the only connection they had was that they were both escapees from the unethical kitten mill. They only knew each other through passing. The inspiration for their unfortunate origins stems from some “health-related” events we’ll be seeing at the end of Year 3 and as we get into Year 4.

As for my decision to make them family, it was mostly last second to be honest. I was thinking about what I wanted Axel’s origins to be. Like, how did she get in the kitten mill? One idea I almost went with was that she was adopted out of a pet store in the nearby human city.

Then, I started playing around with the idea that she could be Stonerun’s daughter and was born in the kitten mill. I liked it a lot that I decided to go with it.

Icystar is definitely still upset with Loudpeak. Imagine the cut scene happened off screen.

There’s a lot of reasons why she didn’t defend him, but I think the most important one being that she knows that no one is to blame for Sapflow’s death (much less her daughter). It’s just a part of life and she wants Loudpeak to understand that, but he’s still young and wants someone to blame for his father being gone sooner than he had imagined. For him, it’s easy to blame Sootback as in his mind, healers are meant to heal and she’s much more vulnerable than Mulberrystripe and easier to push around.

Icystar threatening to take away his inheritance is spurred on mostly by her leader instincts. In her mind, a leader isn’t one who just blames and fights with their clanmates, especially their own family, over issues that is no one’s fault. On top of that, with Sootback being the healer heir, she needs the two to work alongside each other or else the clan will be weakened from within and easy to be destroyed by enemies. That’s not something she wants not only as their mother, but also as a leader who wants to make sure her new clan thrives for generations to come.

Also I headcanon he's greyace because I like putting my pride on my favorite character. I love this comic so much

Fellow ace here 😳! I have never given Loudpeak’s sexuality much of a thought other than what has occurred in game, but I can see the vision and it has opened my eyes 💆‍♀️! Canon now 😎!

Adderbite is one of Icystar’s and Sapflow’s many future descendants. She was the great-great-granddaughter of the clan’s 16th leader, Mulberrystar. She’s one of the more recent cats of the save file.

She and her brother, Pikeshimmer, were born to their mother, Burnetthunder, in the last few moons of Elderberrystar’s reign. They were the result of a half-clan relationship.

While Pikeshimmer graduated early at 11 moons old, Adderbite wouldn’t get her name until she was 13-moons-old. In the moon between the siblings’ graduations, they would lose Burnetthunder to a festering infection. (They were also left unaware of the fact that their mother had killed an apprentice right before they started their training.)

Adderbite served as a warrior during Wispstar’s reign. Just like her mother, she got involved in a half-clan relationship, which resulted in the birth of her only son, Jackdawshade.

A couple from the past generation of the modern TallClan save file that I have been having brain worms about!!! Meet Badgerwhistle and Mudstem!

Mudstem was enamored with Badgerwhistle, despite the fact that he was older than her (39 moon age gap). When she first confessed to him, she was given a half-hearted rejection. Badgerwhistle had been taken aback by the confession, unaware that a clanmate had romantic attraction towards him. Especially a young cat like Mudstem (she was 23 moons old, while he was 62 moons old).

Two moons later, when Badgerwhistle approached her to ask for her paw in marriage, Mudstem assumed that he had turned around and had been in love with her this whole time. Surely, she must’ve caught him by surprise with her confession. Hence, his initial hesitation. In her mind, her fantasies were coming to fruition.

To Badgerwhistle, he was taking advantage of Mudstem’s feelings. As the Lead Healer, he was expected to have his own heirs and knowing there was someone in the clan who would be willing to have his children, well, he wouldn’t mind faking his feelings for that sake.
