THE HIT AND RUN by brawltogethernow (36k, though the actual story text is probably less than that; rated m) notes: disco elysium crossover! wherein Light Yagami Fucking Dies, and everyone else has to deal with it! probably the entire reason why i have been obsessed with L for a year. incredibly funny with occasional vicious spikes of being incredibly sad summary: Harry hits Light Yagami with his car. (Based on a joke post, taken extremely seriously.) .
Kokuhaku by laulieta (15k, rated t) notes: one of my favorite brilliant gems in the light yagami miserable pining oeuvre along with everything else laulieta has written. really extremely cute. summary: After Light gives up being Kira and L no longer considers him his prisoner, almost everything is sorted out. The only thing left are those annoying feelings lodged in Light's chest. Maybe he should confess? .
My Cold Deep Home by tsukinousagi (5.4k, rated t) notes: HORROR!!! GRIEF!!! REPRESSION!!! MORE HORROR!!! i have read this only once which is a compliment because it made me feel sick in the good way for like a week. i love the matsuda and misa cameos in this so much summary: Since the night they burnt L, Light has been having a dream which bleeds into his waking life. In this dream, he opens his bedroom door to find a long tunnel that goes down and down and down; in his dream, L calls to him from beyond the grave, all the way from Yomi, and begs Light to bring him home. .
Turn the Memory to Stone by Nalanzu (79k, jdrama, rated t) notes: jdrama fic of all time. i actually have not finished this one because it's 79k and i got overwhelmed with how much i liked it halfway through but essentially: right before the blue scene light feels like he's lost the memory of something, but still remembers being kira. he is also holding a note in his own handwriting telling him to put a mask on L during the confrontation. for this reason L lives and everything goes wrong(/right)(/wrong) summary: Yagami Light is too clever for his own good, and all it will ever get him is into trouble he can't get out of.

Ruby by tinycrescent - kiyomisa (8.3k, rated e) notes: what if the dinner scene but they had sex. kiyomisa fic of all time incredibly formative for my kiyomi interpretation summary: But as Misa smiles like a devil across the table, lips shining like a ruby in the low light, Kiyomi stumbles. Misa chips away at her. Strips the presentable image Kiyomi so meticulously crafted and reveals a side of her she'd kept under lock and key. Not like herself at all. …Or perhaps exactly like herself. .
metempsychosis by palant1r - matsulight (51k, rated m) notes: matsuda gets stuck in a time loop on the day of light's death and tries to save him again. and again. and again. really beautiful summary: After the warehouse — it will always be "the warehouse" to him, a vague noun as a substitute for years of betrayal — Matsuda wakes up the next morning faced with a second chance. One day to fix everything, one day to build the January 28 he wants. And that day will repeat for as long as it takes to get things right. He knows that he can't save everyone. But it would be nice if he could just save someone. .
World's Worst Polycule by not_a_trainsmash - lawlightmane (series, 4.5k total, rated t) notes: comedy/fluff. in which misa and L team up to make light jealous of… either of them? both of them?? just incredibly delightful all around misa is a hilarious narrator. all three sides of the triangle included! summary: L and Light are always playing absurd mind games and Misa is fed up. It’s time for her to make a move of her own. .
wind-up doll by janeseth - yagamane (6.9k, rated m) notes: the one where light is trying to kill everyone who has superpowers, while using his own superpowers, because he is a hypocrite, and his latest target is misa amane and her supernatural charm. he might, possibly, be in over his head. i love this one they're everything. summary: Misa Amane is the most vapid, annoying target Light’s ever dealt with. It’s a good thing she’ll be dead by tonight.
