Alright… I’m reluctantly engaging in taenie convo.

Personally I’ve always believed it was them. I saw no convincing evidence of that not being true at the time and after. Jennie was spotted shopping in Paris at the time and if I remember correctly (though don’t ask me for details 🙈) a teacher/friend/connection posted about meeting her there also. I am curious to see what your research brings up though.

Dec 2021. Tae ACCIDENTLY follows Jennie

There was no reason for fans to assume it was anything but an accident. Tae was new to the app and of course never meant to follow her as all members only follow eachother, but the damage was done and Taennie was born. As you can see he tried to squash the narrative that the follow was meaningful by his weverse post, but to no avail. Fandoms do what they've always done. Make their own narratives based on very little and the hunt for clues and the manufacturing of connections, rumours and photos commenced.

May 2022 sighting in Jeju with loads of fake pictures.

It started with one Blind item report from an airline employee providing no flight number, no exact date or any kind of detailed description. Blind is an anonymous Korean forum. Pretty safe to say it lacked detail to be credible.

In May 2022 BTS' schedule was pretty busy with the release of Proof, Run BTS episodes and getting ready for a world tour etc. BlackPink was also heavily in pre comeback mode. Not impossible for a getaway, but not likely.

Photos that dropped from this alledged trip had major signs of photoshop. From previously found identical released solo photos of them being superimposed together, to Tae's missing or moving leg scar, to a photo that was definately not Tae's toes.

Also Gurumi the photo leaker was outed by an insider from a chat group who leaked their admission of photoshopping to create chaos and also by a fan posing as a buyer for edited pics.

But the smoking gun was that Jenny at the time of this alledged trip had RED hair and all Jeju photos showed her having BLACK hair. On platforms like Pinterest and Reddit (r/BlackPink), timelines of Jennie's hair show the red phase lasting from April 2022 to July 2022, with May fully covered by event photos.

May 29th 2022 Tae is spotted wearing the now famous "Your dog is not my dog" sweatshirt. Jimin even seemed to emphasize the shirt for people to pay attention to it.

The expression "your dog is not my dog" is typically used to convey that someone else's preferences are not your own. It suggests a boundary or distinction between what one person is dealing with and what another person is willing to take on or care about. It's generally about separating oneself from another’s situation.

Tae's use of the phrase served as a playful dismissive way to distance himself from the rumors, implying that fans speculation about his dating Jennie was not his concern.

Safe to say the Jeju trip didn't happen and that Tae was aware, but wasn't that amused with the gossip surrounding it.

A little bit of research shows you just how many kpop dating rumours are pure fan conjecture without an ounce of truth. It is WILD!

Just an aside of why Hybe may have refused to deny rumours. It could be to take the heat off of bullying rumours circulating regarding other Hybe artists.

But… I don’t want to talk about it.

Not because I’m somehow insecure, or unsure, or I don’t know how to explain things, or that I changed my mind… it’s simply because I feel it’s unfair. Tae already went through this shitshow heavily. He got dragged every way and beyond. It does not have to happen again because of another member.

People keep saying he was 3rd wheeling. How can you 3rd wheel when you aint even present?

Anyway, what i remember is Jenny being spotted in Jeju during this time they were there so I guess that explains that
