Taeju's character development is one of the best I've read. It says a lot on how true and pure love can change a person for the better. He changed himself because he wants what's the best for Euihyun and for the brother he loves the most.

Tysm @icarusignite! I had multiple readers request headcanons for Taeju, so here you go! Let me know if you want to see any of these developed into a fic.
Warnings - none other than the brief mentions of trust issues, hurt/comfort, fears, fighting, and organized crime (obvs).
Admiration (what he adores about you)
What Taeju admires the most about you is your integrity. Even if you work for/are involved with shady, underhanded people, you stick to what you believe is right. You don’t let people or your environment change who you are, and he loves that “Only you could make it look so easy.”
Body (his favorite part of your body)
Your eyes are the part of you that he finds the most tempting. So much so, he deliberately had to avoid making eye contact with you for the early part of your relationship. He just knew that once he stared for too long, your gaze would lure him in and make him fall hard.
Cuddles (how he cuddles / likes to show affection)
Mans is definitely touch deprived lol. So even though he has a serious demeanor 25/7, he really loves cuddling when he’s alone with you. His favorite thing is to give you hugs from behind and bury his head into your shoulder muttering, “Finally, I have you all to myself. I missed you, Jagi.”
Dates (what his ideal date with you looks like)
This man… has no clue what a date should look like lol. He’s the type who goes on the internet and researches what date ideas are popular, which locations are trendy, etc. He also really wants to hear your opinion and shows you options, “What do you think of this place, Y/n?”
Excitement (what excites him / how he acts when excited)
He loves to be praised. If he does a good job with something, he more than appreciates you telling him. The same goes for compliments, he eats them up and fights the big smile that threatens to grow on his face. “Babe, cut it out,” he says (but really wants you to keep going).
Fear (what he is afraid of when it comes to your relationship)
Taeju knows how easily he can get tied up with work and fears that you won’t fully understand his loyalty to Dongcheon. He hopes you won’t expect more from him than he is able to give, because he doesn’t want to have to make a choice between you and the organization.
Gifts (how he feels about gift giving / receiving)
In general, he has a hard time grasping how much is expected of him when it comes to a romantic relationship. He wants to do his best, though, and might end up overdoing the gift giving a bit. Afterall, “What’s the point of working hard if my partner can’t have nice things?”
Hand Holding (how and when he likes to hold hands / how much pda he’s willing to show)
Taeju can be a little rough around the edges and avoids pda in most settings. He is plenty affectionate, he just likes to do it privately. If you’re out on a date, though, he loves holding your hand and gets pouty if you tease him about it. Just let him swing your arms in peace plz.
IInjury / Illness (how he acts if you’re hurt or sick)
He would never ask Mujin if he could have the day off to tend to someone else, so he fakes being sick himself so he can be permitted to go home. He gets super concerned for you and wants to do what he can to make it better. If that means bathing you and feeding you, so be it.
Jealousy (how he handles it if / when he gets jealous)
Taeju stumbles into jealousy easily not only because he’s competitive, but also because he is a huge overthinker. He turns eerily quiet and won’t speak a word about his jealousy, but it is obvious. He’s the type to give death stares, “accidentally” shove people, and tightly ball his fists.
Kisses (how he likes to kiss you)
He doesn’t have a lot of experience and is a little awkward initiating it at first, also not knowing what to do with his hands. But he makes it his mission to get good at kissing, mentalling noting your reactions each time to see what you do/don’t like and what you respond to the best.
Love Language (how he shows he loves you)
He lives to please, let’s be honest. So, it’s acts of service all the way. If you need an outfit dry cleaned or a prescription refilled, Taeju does it before you even bring it up. He also calls you throughout the day asking, “Did you eat? What do you feel like? I’ll have it delivered to you.”
Memory (his favorite memory with you)
For your first anniversary, he took you to adopt a pet so you could have company on nights he worked late. He’ll never forget how your eyes became a little glossy as you fawned over the little fur ball, or how his heart swelled when you expressed how excited you were to raise it with him.
Needs (how needy he is / how he meets your needs)
Taeju is needy in the sense that he constantly seeks validation from you. He is very attentive and looks for your reactions to everything he says and does, making sure that you’re content. He also wants you to need him and will do anything for you. “All you have to do is ask, baby.”
Oddity (a quirk he has that you noticed)
You have not, and might never see him drunk because he can’t imagine making a fool of himself in front of you (or so he claims). Truthfully, even if you are far along in the relationship, he is afraid it will make him too vulnerable. He still indulges ofc, but not to the point of intoxication.
Protection (how protective he is over you)
He is a great fighter and is fully capable of protecting you. He’s not above hurting people, but doesn’t necessarily want to do it in front of you. If someone is causing you problems, he sweetly says, “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it, I promise.” And he always makes good on his promises.
Quality Time (how he likes to spend time with you)
Mujin practically has to force him to go see you sometimes. It’s not that Taeju doesn’t want to, he just struggles hardcore with work life balance. But he likes to take you to movies, concerts, even to go camping; things you both enjoy that are kind of separated from reality.
Romance (how romantic he is)
It’s a learning process for him, but he genuinely wants to get better at it for you. Despite not being a risk taker, he took a chance on you and decided it was the best choice he ever made. He is super loyal and makes it known to you that, “Mujin owns my life, but you have my heart.”
Secrets (how open he is with you)
Taeju has serious trust issues at first. It takes him a long time to feel like he can be open with you. Eventually, though, he gradually tells you bits and pieces about his past, his family, and how he started working for Mujin. “I’m only telling you cause I love you… and you asked.”
Time (how you met / how long it took you to get together)
Honestly, he is a tough one to crack. You had to be the one to pursue him, and it took months before he finally gave in to you. As a work affiliate of Mujin’s, you regularly had to exchange info with Taeju, and he tried like hell for a long time to just do his job and not fall for your charm.
Upset (how he acts when you’re upset)
Taeju gets upset when you’re upset, and his hard exterior cracks instantly (especially if you cry). He’s not usually swayed by emotion so easily. But, he cares so much about you and softens a little just for you. “What’s wrong, baby?” he pats your head. “Can’t you tell me? I can help.”
Vaunt (things about you he is proud of / how he shows you off)
He shows you off in subtle ways such as: having you as his phone lockscreen, wearing accessories you picked out for him, talking you up to his boss, etc. And when he’s proud of you, he tells you, “You really are the best. You know that? I’m so lucky that you are mine.”
Warrior (how he feels about you fighting)
As the fight officiator at Dongcheon, he enjoys the idea of fighting in general and thinks that strength and smarts are good qualities for you to have. Although, Taeju doesn’t want you to get unnecessarily tangled up with the wrong people or jeopardize anyone in the organization.
X-tra (a random headcanon for him)
He is a very straightforward guy when he speaks. To you, he is always saying things such as: “You are very beautiful, I want to see you tonight, I feel comfortable around you, etc.” You will never have to guess what he’s thinking or how he feels about you, because he will let you know.
Yearn (what he does when he misses you)
This usually happens after a long day, standing in Mujin’s office with his hands clasped in front of him. He dreams about you, wondering what you’re doing and if you had enough to eat. Sometimes, Mujin notices he’s not listening and Taeju promptly replies, “Apologies, Sir.”
Zzz (what it’s like to sleep with him)
He’s a hard worker, so he falls asleep pretty much as soon as he closes his eyes. At first, he was too nervous to sleep with you. But after some time, he got more trusting and used to it. He actually loves to fall asleep with his head on your chest, or he wants to share a pillow at least.
