What if when Time was in Termina he started putting a notch into the doorframe of the clock tower so he could track how many cycles he went through like a prisoner marking the days on their cell wall
Aaron has just pulled his shirt over his head when he hears the stairs creak. He freezes, the shirt still stuck around his arms as something like apprehension burns its way through his body. He’s only still for a moment before he throws the shirt all the way off, chucking it blindly behind him. Whoever is climbing the stairs is doing so at a snail’s pace, but not carefully enough to avoid all the squeaky steps.
Aaron forgoes grabbing the snow globe on his desk to use as a weapon and crosses over to his bedroom door to jerk it open.
At the top of the stairs stands Kevin Day, somehow a bright spot in the completely dark hallway. He flashes a smile at Aaron that shows all his teeth, then slides his feet over the carpet in big strides to reach him.
“Hey,” Kevin says as he closes the door. He leans back against it and Aaron stares at Kevin’s goofy expression. He used to be more subdued—better at giving away his feelings with just the quirk of his mouth rather than the full motion of his cheeks. Now, Kevin looks far too happy to see him.
“Were you even trying to sneak up?” Aaron says, partly to distract Kevin and to redirect his thoughts to safer grounds.
It works. Kevin squints at him. “I was. I did,” he tells him, gesturing to himself, here, in Aaron’s room, a little triumphantly. “I was careful.”
“Sure…”
Kevin huffs at the suspicion on Aaron’s face and ignores it to rake his eyes over his torso. He looks more serious doing this, like mapping the constellation of freckles on Aaron’s body is very important business. Aaron flushes all over, hot everywhere he thinks Kevin’s eyes land. He is suddenly very aware that he’s without a shirt.
Kevin presses the pad of his thumb on Aaron’s hip and curls his fingers around him.
“I’m going to take a shower,” Aaron announces, barely concealing the shiver that wracks through him.
Kevin glances his thumb over Aaron’s stomach and says, “Alone?”
Aaron gives him a deeply unimpressed look. Kevin must know it because he breathes a laugh before he even looks up to see it. “I thought you were worried about waking up the house,” Aaron says.
He takes a take back when Kevin takes a step forward to lean off the door. He keeps his eyes level with Aaron’s as he takes off his own shirt and discards it. “You’ll just have to be quiet, then, won’t you?”
They both know Aaron is not the one they need to monitor.

🧸 a/n ; i literally had a dream exactly like this and it was too cute to not write into existence. hope you enjoy!! ♡
gentle raindrops falls against the ground. sun long set, the full moon dimly illuminates the dark night.
you and jisung are sitting in the trunk of your car, the door open so you can watch the rain. jisung hums along to a song you can’t quite place while he fiddles with your intertwined fingers.
“have you told you parents about me?” you ask, keeping your voice soft, not wanting to ruin the quiet atmosphere. jisung nods.
“have you told you parents about me?” you ask, keeping your voice soft, not wanting to ruin the quiet atmosphere. jisung nods.
“mm, yeah, of course. why wouldn’t i wanna brag about you?”
you chuckle, shaking your head. “dumbass.”
jisung grins. “always for you.”
you roll your eyes, squeezing his hand tightly. “what did they say when you told them?”
“they were surprised,” jisung recounts. “i haven’t dated anyone in a while, and everyone i have dated they’d already met long before we started.”
you nod in understanding. “ah, yeah, that makes sense. but they weren’t, like, mad or anything, right?”
jisung shakes his head. “no, of course not. why? were you worried?”
“a little bit.” you can feel the heat in your cheeks as you admit it. jisung laughs and leans his head on your shoulder.
“you’re cute.”
“shut up,” you mumble. jisung laughs again. quiet settles over the two of you again, the sound of the rain creating a hushed tranquility.
“it’s getting pretty late,” jisung says after a moment.
“yeah,” you reply, squeezing his hand a bit tighter. “we should probably get you home.”
“probably.” jisung nuzzles his face into your neck. you turn to press a kiss to the top of his hair, and jisung hums contentedly.
“let’s get going.” you stand up, tugging jisung to his feet as well.
“just a little longer?” he whines, and you laugh, your hand coming up to brush his bangs away from his face.
“i’m driving you home, dummy,” you remind him.
“i know, but…” he pulls you close by your waist. “i just miss you, i guess.“
you smile, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. “simp.”
jisung laughs loudly, resting his forehead against yours. “always for you.”
and you roll your eyes again, smile never leaving your face.
“tell you what,” you say. jisung tilts his head. “why don’t we go try and convince my parents to let you stay the night?”
jisung giggles, placing his hands on either side of your face. “yes please.”
and then he leans in, kissing you softly, gently, lovingly. you can’t help but smile, holding jisung close as the rain continues to fall around you.
“c’mon,” you mumble against his lips. “let’s get inside.”
“sounds good to me,” jisung replies, kissing you one last time.
the two of you chuckle as you step out into the rain, and you pause to close the trunk of your car before jisung grabs your hand and runs for the front door, laughing the whole way.
you shush him as soon as you get inside, both of you still giggling under your breath. “you’re ridiculous,” you whisper. jisung grins.
“always for you.”
you laugh, toeing off your shoes and shucking off your windbreaker. “absolutely ridiculous.”
“you love me,” jisung declares. you shake your head and press a chaste kiss to his lips.
“that i do.”
jisung’s grin shines in your dimly lit living room. you lace your fingers together, tugging him further inside.
“come on, stupid.”
“what happened to convincing your parents first?” jisung teases, letting you pull him through the house to your bedroom.
“they’re fast asleep already, and i’m tired,” you respond as you shuffle through your closet to find some spare clothes for jisung. “don’t tell me you want me to wake my mom up just to ask her if you can stay.”
you chuckle, handing jisung a pair of sweatpants and a shirt that’s definitely actually his. “she doesn’t hate you, ji.”
“i don’t know, i’m pretty sure she does.”
“please, you’re, like, her favourite child.”
jisung giggles, pulling you close. “okay, yeah, she does like me more than you.”
you make an indignant noise, slapping jisung lightly on the arm. he yelps, hitting you back instinctually.
“ow!” you complain.
“serves you right!” he retorts, and you can’t help but laugh at his righteous expression.
“sorry, you big baby,” you say, and he huffs. “i’m gonna get changed. do you mind changing in here, or do you wanna change in the bathroom?”
“here’s fine,” jisung answers, and then his playful grin is back. “no peeking!”
you laugh, shoving him away. “idiot.”
“always for you!” he sing-songs, and you roll your eyes for what feels like the millionth time tonight.
“get changed, dumbass.”
you finish changing before him, sitting down on your bed and plugging in your phone. jisung makes a remark about how your sweatpants are too big for him, and you reply that that’s because he has literally no waist, which makes him laugh.
“are you done yet?” you complain, already underneath the covers. rather than responding, jisung simply dives into bed next to you, and you laugh, scooting over to make more room.
the two of you get comfortable, your arms draped around his tiny waist, his hands playing with your hair as you listen to the steady thump-thump-thump if his heartbeat.
“i love you,” you mumble, eyes fluttering shut. he traces his fingers across your cheek, softly kissing your forehead.
you’re curled up in jisung’s arms, your face buried in his neck as the storm rages on outside your apartment.
a loud crack of lightning and the rumble of thunder bounces off the walls, the sounds resonating in your ears, causing you to whimper and snuggle closer to jisung.
storms absolutely terrified you, and jisung always stayed over when there was supposed to be thunderstorms. there have also been times that you called him crying in the middle of the night because of unexpected thundering. and jisung always came, no matter what time it was, and he would even cancel plans to stay with you to make sure you were okay.
you always thought he did it because he was an amazing best friend but the truth is that han jisung is completely and totally in love with you, and he’s just too afraid to tell you. so he settles for sticking by your side to protect you from your fears.
jisung’s hands are gentle as he strokes your hair, his soft voice soothing you as he sings quietly in your ear to block out the rumbling outside.
see, you had always had feelings for jisung, and you would never doubt that. but your friendship meant far too much to you for you to even consider risking it. if there was anything that scared you more than storms, it was losing jisung.
soon enough, the storm calmed, turning to a light pitter patter of rain on your windows. but the two of you stayed exactly the way you were, both of you unwilling to move and lose the warmth of the other.
after a while of complete silence between you, jisung speaks up, suddenly feeling a rush of confidence and bravery.
“hey, y/n? can i... try something?” he asked softly.
you don’t fail to notice the hint of nervousness his voice held, and you look up at him, your eyebrow raised in curiosity. “sure?” you respond, slightly confused.
jisung takes a deep breath, and places his index finger under your chin to tilt your face up to his. your heart pounds in your chest when his soft lips meet yours, and you freeze up in surprise.
he pulls away the moment he feels you tense up against him, his eyes wide with fear and nervousness. jisung immediately starts to apologize, thinking he freaked you out or made you uncomfortable, worried that he just ruined his relationship with his best friend.
you shake your head, a small smile tugging at your lips. “jisungie, it’s okay.” you play with his fingers shyly. “do you... like me?”
jisung blushes and gives a tiny nod. “i do.” he murmurs.
you finally allow yourself to smile widely up at him. “i like you too, sung.”
he just stares at you for a while, his beautiful brown eyes widened in shock and surprise. “really?” he finally whispers.
“really.” you nod, smiling. your smile quickly becomes a grin as you lean forward to press your lips against jisung’s in a soft and sweet kiss.
when you pull away, neither of you can stop smiling at each other, completely overwhelmed with a chaotic combination of excitement, happiness, relief, and absolute euphoria.
for you, the feeling increases tenfold when jisung speaks up again. “so... y/n? will you be my girlfriend?”
your face flushes bright pink as you nod, smiling happily. “i’ll be your girlfriend.”
when your lips connect for the third time that night, you find yourself thinking that maybe, just maybe, storms aren’t so bad after all.
