hi i remember you're reading the player hides his past now, and the manhwa made me hc jesse heinesse as neurodivergent with special interest in magic. thoughts? does novel support it? :3c
Oh the novel definitely supports that headcanon, even more than the manhwa iirc!!! I don't remember any exact quotes but her fixation with Lee Hoyeol is purely because of his magic and nothing else. Hero? Pride? Super strong? She just cares about his ability to use real magic without a skill, and her desire to be taught that ability.
Also the special interest is incredibly real, even her teacher (the hat she wears) admits that no one can get through to Jesse Heiness when she fixates on something, i.e. Lee Hoyeol and his magic, as if she's gone blind and deaf to anything else.
She's kind of socially unaware, or simply doesn't care, which we know from the scenes in the novel where she's with Shining. One of the members even says that they don't want to get in her way when she becomes focused on magic, specifcally focused on Lee Hoyeol and his magic, not even wanting to tell her to calm down. So knowing her isn't any protection against getting in her way, which isn't normal behavior for someone that has been with Shining for years. She's somewhat withdrawn from Shining as a whole, isn't talkative, and she leaves easily because she has no attachment to it. She was only in Shining because they took her into rifts and gave her funds, which she accepted because she wanted to use those resources to pursue magic further.
We know she has a massive pool of mana, and was even accepted into the mage tower despite being an adventurer. Her interest in magic had to have been strong enough to draw the attention of her teacher, the hat, who I think is an archmage? A super old one?
Again I don't remember any specifics but afaik? She's very neurodivergent ^^
