Tachyons music taste is hard af to pin down.

I want to say she listens to everything and her range is extremely broad, being the chaotic person she is.

That said I feel like she leans heavily into like shoegaze, but also, on the opposite side of the spectrum she enjoys synth pop or the electro-pop, similar to her single Lightless.

I do however see Cafe and Tachyons music taste overlapping a bit in some places. Specifically with jazz and that more ethereal shoegaze songs. They seem like they would both fuck with some Midwest emo too lowkey in an angsty wlw type of way if that makes sense.

A/n: will probably make a full proper headcanon on Tachycafe overlapping shared taste in music as well as the rest of jamd because they all probably intersect around some genres.

Tachyon’s lab coat [Part 1]

Tachyon’s lab coats have a habit of being discarded wherever she happens to feel like when taking them off, this has led to them being repurposed in a number of ways.

Cafe ☕️:

Cafe often uses Tachyon’s lab coat as a morning or evening robe it’s surprisingly cozy and comfortable house wear, and perfect to throw on after drying off from a hot shower. This unfortunately means Tachyon has to find another one, because Cafe would rather die than give it back. She gets pretty grumpy when called out on it too, retorting that Tachyon needs to wash her coats more because this one smells yet she makes no move to take it off. Not that Tachyon is complaining. A flustered, embarrassed Cafe padding around in little more than her lab coat is a sight she has absolutely no objections to.

Words of affirmation is definitely not at the top of the list when it comes to how Tachyon and Cafe show their affection for each other. It’s largely unspoken, a product of their long history, mutual understanding, and simply who they are. It’s not that they are unaffectionate toward each other, but they just don’t feel the need to lean into consistent “I love yous” and mushy declarations. However, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes words are the only way of getting their feelings across, and when that happens it results in an absolute short circuit for whichever one is caught off guard, flustering them completely and embarrassing them deeply.

{Tachyon Initiating}

Cafe’s natural instinct is to assume Tachyon is teasing or making fun of her, until she realizes that she’s being completely serious. She quietly concedes, opens herself up, and reciprocates, albeit fumbling over her words and having a hard time making eye contact. To win her trust, Tachyon is unusually gentle with her. Physical contact through a hug, a kiss, or hand holding usually resolves that, and she relaxes into it.

{Cafe Initiating}

Tachyon tries to put her typical facade up to play it off, but it’s so obviously fake that Cafe sees right through it. To be honest, she always sees right through Tachyon. She always could. Even still, it would frustrate Cafe visibly irritating her, which would force Tachyon to drop the act and be truly authentic for once. After finally reaching emotional equilibrium between the two. Cafe is able close the distance and if Tachyon tries to start up on her bullshit crack or nervously crack joke or anything. She knows how to shut her up with her lips.
