“No Juggernaut yet, huh.” Farrow was tapping his foot on the ground, laying his head on his arms.
“After that ghost story, I think we’ve scared it off,” joked Gene. “Too spooky.” Buggy beamed.
“Nah, that story sucked.” Farrow snorted.
“Don’t fuckin’ bully him,” Skuggy murmured from the tree above, half-jokingly. He was looking up and resting back against the tree, swinging his leg slightly. He kept the oversized jacket Oz gave to him close, as it was getting chilly.
“You did fine, Buggy.” Gene chuckled. “Keep your eyes peeled, you three.”
It was silent for a few more minutes, until Rascal spoke up.
“Hey, lemme tell you about something. I’ve actually had a plan on what to do after Mendel fixes the Juggernaut. Is that okay?” He continued to watch the path intently, talking as he did.
“Hm? Yes, of course.” Mendel didn’t keep his eyes off the path either.
“Is this gonna be like another shitty ghost story?” Farrow groaned.
“No, no. I’ve been thinking. It’s pretty strong, right? It can help fix the town again,” Rascal explained. “So, like, there’s a ton of broken houses, like mine— it trashed Buggy’s place, for sure.” He looked to Buggy, who nodded with his eyes wide.
“But, like...some of the houses are, like, destroyed. And it can help build them back up!” Rascal continued. “I think I might know some people versed in architecture who can help us out, and...”
Rascal’s speaking turned into background noise, and Buggy spaced out for a bit. Everything became a bit fuzzy. He blinked once, twice. He felt a bit tired, but...he wasn’t going to let himself fall right here right now, no. He shook his head and rubbed his eyes.
Buggy turned quickly, but saw nothing.
Buggy looked around, eyes wide. He held onto his flamethrower. Nothing. He snapped back his focus to the group.
“Did one of you say my name?” He blurted.
“Huh? Oh, no, I said Skuggy,” said Rascal. “I was saying he can help us out with the soup kitchen.”
Buggy blinked some more and shook his head slightly. “Sorry. Okay. Keep going.”
“Buggy...Can you hear me?”
