I decided to sketch an Omega on the same page I did my last one on, and as expected, he is incredibly difficult to draw. One major roadblock was simply trying to find a good reference. If you look up “E123 Omega” a ton of different images come up. The arms are generally the same in each one, so I bounced back and forth between a few to find a good angle. It was only once I started drawing the mid-section that I realized that his leg/hip joints had completely different designs in almost every image. And I don’t just mean colors or little details—I mean full-on anatomy. Some joints come out of a little piece in between his legs, some come out from the main body at various angles, and sometimes I can’t really tell. Most of this confusion is on me since I didn’t look up a specific piece of media, so I was left with a cornucopia of game models, official art, Archie panels, fanart, and action figures/funko pops.
Ironically, I had a very similar problem the first time I drew T-pup. The video game sprite/official art is extremely different from the Archie design. Plus I had somehow convinced myself that he had two tails. That confusion led into how I described and designed him in Binary: four (well, three) legs, robotic eyes, primarily orange paneling, and twin tails. Considering the nature of the fic I’m writing, I do find it funny that I had a similar issue with both of them
