when your brother turns a tuxedo fitting into a magazine photoshoot...
“nini. can i talk to you?”
she stands at his door, lingering, as she waits for him to stand and follow her. perhaps it was because the sun shone brightly above them, or that, the sun always just reminded her of him, but she wanted to be outside when they spoke.
“do you know how long i’ve been thinking about this?”
she laughs, to try and hide the embarrassment behind the question. slowly, person by person, she had been asking them to be part of her wedding. from bridemaids, to groomsmen, to offciators, to anything else the monarchy seems to think she needs. he was the very, very last person
“if it was up to me, you would be my maid of honour”
she couldn’t think of anyone else better for the job. by far, no one knew her better than her brother, no one would be more trusted with handling her last few days of single life than jason. but tradition called for a female and, with much reluctance, in part to the fact it couldn’t be jason, she happily decided to half the role between skye and joyce.
“it wasn’t until i was talking to father last night that i realised what i wanted you to be”
of course, like her brothers, they would be groomsmen. that much was obvious. but she always felt strongly that he should be more than that. more than just another person part of her bridal party.
“nini, i want you to walk me down the aisle”
the specifics would be explained later. the role itself will be halved by her father and nini. another tradition calls for her father to have the role but ella wanted something else. her father would still walk her down the aisle, of course, but she wanted nini to be the one to give her hand away.
“-i want you to be the one to give me away that day”
