Ingredients: 3 lbs beef short ribs. 1 cup soy sauce. 1/2 cup hoisin sauce. 1/4 cup rice vinegar. 1/4 cup honey. 3 tbsp Szechuan peppercorns, crushed. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 2 tsp ginger, grated. 1/2 cup water. 2 tbsp cornstarch. 2 green onions, sliced for garnish.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, crushed Szechuan peppercorns, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Place beef short ribs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them. Add water, ensuring ribs are well coated. Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until ribs are tender and flavorful. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Add to the slow cooker to thicken the sauce. Once done, transfer the ribs to a serving dish, spoon the sticky sauce over them, and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve over rice or noodles and enjoy the delicious Szechuan flavor!
