Antivirus

A kind of protector, gatekeeper, etc who prevents harm from persecutors and other harmful alters within the system and detects or tracks said alters in the system, and could possibly even warn or prevent their formation/splitting.

While this doesn’t have to be harmful, it could be harmful due to having “false positives” or be harmful in the ways they deal with, detect, or tracks said alters. They may even be persecutors in of themself. Hence why it’s part of this blog.

Hybris

A harmful alter capable of appearing as though they are not fronting when co-fronting with someone else, in order to do various actions to confuse, disorient, or scare the alter(s) they are fronting with. These actions don’t have to be harmful in of themself.

Hybrid was a computer worm that was capable of being updated with plugins post-infection, though the only actual payloads I could find were it sending itself as part of an email attachment from emails users sent, and also showing a hypnotic wheel image.

Hicom/HIcom/HI.com

A kind of harmful alter which either:

-Seems to others outside the system like their actions that are harmful to the system are “not that bad” or “not harmful” but is, in fact, harmful and bad for the system.

or

-Exists as a “harmful alter” so the system can know how to prevent harmful alters from commuting harm and know how to work with harmful alters and allow them to change roles, peacefully go dormant, integrate, etc, whatever healing method is chosen or more comfortable for the system or alter in question.

HI.com, or its more well known name Father Christmas, was a computer worm that, once it infected the system, would create the file HI.com then wait for a specific time, which it would then give the user a “Merry Christmas” message from “Father Christmas”. The worm allowed to for better and faster acting security measures around similar spreading worms.

Mydoom

A kind of harmful alter which doesn’t actually want to be a harmful alter but believes that they have to be, for some reason.

Mydoom.A/Mydoom (A Variant)

A variant of a Mydoom alter which only enacts its harmful behaviors in very few circumstances, or only a percentage of the time.

Mydoom.B/Mydoom (B Variant)

A variant of a Mydoom which specifically attempts to prevent themself from being prevented from committing harmful actions, usually by preventing alters who would be able to do so from doing so in some way. This may be part of their harmful actions, may be due to their belief that they have to do these things, or may be due to fear of what would happen if they don’t do these things or are caught doing these things.

Doomjuice

A kind of harmful alter which only exists in systems who have or have had Mydoom alters, usually using Mydoom alters to harm the system by convincing them that they have to or reinforcing their belief that they have to.

Daprosy/Daprosy Worm

A kind of harmful alter that seems like some kind of beneficial alter (protector, gatekeeper, etc) but causes some kind of issue or issues within the system, which may or may not be on purpose.

The Daprosy worm was a poorly programmed computer worm which usually pretended to be a made up anti-virus program. Due to poor programming, it was known to cause system bugs, like crashes, hanging, and system shutdowns.

VBWorm

A Persecutor, Malicator, or otherwise harmful alter whose role relates to preventing other alters capable of gatekeeping, identifying harmful alters, or other things meant to prevent harmful alters from harming, from detecting them. They may also be able to make it appear as though certain alters have gone dormant in order to cause scares in the system, but mostly they simply are undetectable to certain or all other alters.

The real name of this computer worm is Bulubebek but um. I couldn’t really find what that even meant? I think it means something close to “baby duck” but I could be completely wrong. But yeah this worm just hid itself and messed with the user by preventing them from finding it conventionally and sometimes hiding their computer files. Nothing else, doesn’t even spread through the internet.

Brontok

A persecutor, malicitor, or otherwise harmful alter who pretends to want what is best for the system or pretends to want to do good things in the world in order to harm them in the end. They may also genuinely believe that this harm is beneficial- while also knowing that it is clearly harmful as well. They may specifically direct the harm at certain alters or people they believe need to be harmed to protect their system- and these people might be people that are in themselves harmful or detrimental to the system- but they are still causing harm to the system through their actions.

Brontok was a computer worm that spread through an email proclaiming to want to stop the degradation of the country and targeted ddos attacks towards specific sites.

Bagle/Beagle

A persecutor, malicator, or otherwise harmful alter who’s role relates to pretending to be a different role or alter and interacting only with those who don’t know them, don’t realize or have the ability to realize they aren’t that role or alter, or don’t have the abilities to stop them from harming or fronting, while actively attempting to avoid those that do.

Bagle (or Beagle) was a computer worm that pretended to be a different, harmless file type while secretly running itself in the background, and sending itself to all the users email contacts while avoiding contacts that could lead to it being caught. The name “Beagle” was its name given to it by its creator, while “Bagle” was chosen by computer scientists to spite the creator.
