Officially and unofficially Greece showed its gratitude to the foreign firefighters who assisted the country in the battle against the devastating wildfires in Attica, Evia and Peloponnese. Local communities danced together with the foreign firefighters, local teams took souvenir pictures and the convoys departed with a hell of a noise.
The big convoy of 108 firefighters and 22 trucks from Romania said Goodbye to the village Prokopi on Sunday in a special way. The Romanian firefighters had their base in the village and operated in Evia since August 6.

If there is one Greek dance that is known all over the world and loved by millions of, it is, of course, the Syrtaki.
The internet is full of videos of the Syrtaki, but a recent one featuring a troupe of elegant dancers performing in front of the Odeon of Herodes Atticus plus mesmerizing aerial photos of the Acropolis Hill has gone viral.
The dance and music that for many epitomizes Greece was popularized by the Oscar-winning film Zorba the Greek, based on the Nikos Kazantzakis novel.
Most tourists who visit Greece want to experience the feeling created by the song and the dance in the place it was conceived, by the great composer Mikis Theodorakis.

Greek dancers, young and old, came together at the center of Augsburg (Germany) on March 26, 2016 and danced Syrtaki with the music of Zorba. Anniversary of 25th March 1821 (Independece Day in Greece) in Greece each year they parade, we do flashmob!
This year’s viral dance, “Jerusalema” Dance Challenge from Mykonos, premiered as a team effort on Sunday to welcome the tourism season.
More than 70 local residents took part in the Jerusalma Dance Challenge on the renowned resort island in the Aegean.
Jerusaluma Dance Challenge Follows Syrtaki Flash Mob The Jerusalema Dance Challenge is not the first public dance performance Mykonos residents have taken part in. Prior to the Lockdown, necessitated by Covid-19 the last two winters, up to 150 dancers lined up annually on Greek Orthodox Palm Sunday along the famous waterfront. A Mykonos flash mob initial performance of the Syrtaki set the trend. In the years that followed other dances were performed. The local organizer hoped to set a Guinness World Record for Syrtaki Dance.
