why do nordic noirs always have me losing my mind over the grumpiest, frumpiest, oldest men.
Synden, hurriedly looking through first aid kit: why did you stuff it full of cheetos??
Ell🅱️agg, bleeding out: thought it was funny at the time
bard for Theo and Wizard for Synden xoxo
🥰
Theo
Bard - Can your character recall a time that music has had a special power over them? What was this song, where did they hear it, and did it affect them positively, negatively, or neutrally?
I mean. He’s a bard. So music does tend to have a special power on and around him (especially that one time he had got a 39 on his performance check (at level 6, for anyone wondering/who doesn’t know)).
But I think that there’s one song in particular that would have a positive effect on him when performed/heard in the right context. He composed a song for another member of the circus (his best friend) during an important time in that person’s life, and it’s meant to be played as a duet. That’s probably the song that means the most to him.
Synden
Wizard - What does your character consider more important--natural talent or work ethic? Regardless of their convictions, do they rely on their training or their talent more often than not?
Synden considers both to be important, but puts more emphasis and finds more value in work and work ethic. Being naturally talented can get you many places, but it can’t get you everywhere, and you can’t always rely on it to fall back on. Synden very much relies more on her training and hard work more than natural talent--her affinity for healing magic and witchcraft was what inspired her to become a witch, but the vast majority of her knowledge and abilities come from her training and hard work. She would be nowhere near what she is today if she only relied on her talent, and she is well aware of that fact.
Send me a themed d&d class question for one of my characters!
Ranger, Sorcerer for Theo and Warlock, Rogue for Synden, please and thank you!
aaaaaaa, thank you so much!!
Theo
Ranger - What one thing does your character hunt for--money, a family heirloom, a source of power, a lost love, a missing relative, etc.?
Honestly, Theo doesn’t hunt for much. He more so... keeps an eye out for things. Allows things to come to him. He’s mostly just enjoying the ride that is life. He’s not lazy by any means, but he just isn’t actively hunting for anything or anyone. Not yet.
Sorcerer - What comes naturally to your character that would require other people to train or study in order to accomplish?
Theo has a talent for performance. He’s a bard, of course, but only became one once he found what he had a knack for: blades. He’s a natural swordsman, and has had a fascination with and innate talent for working with bladed weapons ever since he was little. He is also an extremely charismatic and magnetic person naturally, but those aren’t exactly traits that one studies or trains to achieve.
Synden
Warlock - What alliances does your character rely on for survival? What do these relationships offer them--protection, power, wealth, love, etc.?
First and foremost, Synden relies on the rest of her party (a bloodhunter/ranger, a sorcerer, and a paladin) for survival. They’re a team, and they’re in this together. Her relationship with the group offers her the hope of escaping Barovia (yes, it’s Curse of Strahd) alive, and also not being alone.
Synden also relies on her relationship with Azariel, the demon that possessed her as a child. They can’t be separated (not without her dying), and he provides useful information and insight on occasion. They have a deal, and she intends to see it through.
Rogue - What does your character hide from--the law enforcement, their friends, their family, themselves, their secrets, etc.?
Synden really isn’t doing much hiding at the moment? But if she ever thought that they were really looking for her or were somewhere nearby, she would definitely hide from her parents.
Synden is pretty forthcoming, and isn’t too fearful. She doesn’t have much to hide from the people around her.
Of course, if she could hide from Strahd, she would do it. Just to get some goddamn peace and quiet.
