Sylver hasn't made much of himself over the years, while his older brother, Tweetums, became the Mayor of Acmetropolis. But when that comet struck and gave the unlucky cat the ability to manipulate metals, he decided to get back at the Mayor for all the times he outshone him. So Mayor Tweetums tasks The Loonatics with defending him, and is rude and sassy to them as he is to everyone.

Ok, but let's start with the mid-90's real quick.

I've had this song periodically stuck in my head pretty much since 1996, and, until sometime during the pandemic, I didn't know who it was from or the title. It took one of these video compilations of iconic 90s EDM and a lot of patience, but I found iiiit !! This piece probably heavily informs the following tracks, so that's why i went with chronological order, this time around !

Children was a single from 1995, and then was put the 1996 Dreamland album from Italian DJ Robert Miles (Italian DJ... Robert Miles haha.)

Laut Sprecher ft. Katie Skate - Omnibus

I think if you got excited when tiktoker brought Darude's Sandstorm back, you should give this one a try !

There's not much information about Laut Sprecher I can find on Laut Sprecher tbh, and I don't speak german, so...

This being said, Omnibus was a single released in 2000 and then could be found on the album Mach Mal Lauter later that same year.

Aaaah to this day I still fucking love Sylver, and I need to go find the french versions of her songs !!! (specifically I remember a french version for Turn the Tide, but there may be more 🤔)

As you can hear, I like kind of demure melodies on a dancey unts unts unts beat, and that followed me all the way up to Schwarz Stein lmao

Skin was a single released in 2001. It's also on the album Chances from the same year.

And I'm gonna go with a bonus cause this came up while I was researching for another rotation and it suits the mood, so :

DJ Sammy - California Dreamin'

An upcoming rotation is gonna focus on how techno covers funneled me directly into oldies (and is part of the reason why I love covers !), but I'm keeping this one for right now :)

Of course, originally a song from the Mamas and the Papas, this cover of California Dreamin', with Loona on vocals, was on the album Heaven, released in 2002.
