no matter what shape they take, they always have a tuft of fur/hair along their spine of their neck

most hate their human forms and only take them when saving actual humans (or witches) from nyr

nyr are a special treat to them

like selkies, they are most known for their beautiful, breathtaking seal forms

a lot of witch familiars are actually sylk

plural form of sylk is sylk

the more powerful the witch, the stronger the attraction

a lot of witches don’t realize their familiars are sylk until they are protected by them or catch them eating nyr

most have 2 preferred forms: one in the air and one underwater

they are social creatures that looove cuddles

if you see a crow nuzzling a person, it’s probably a witch with their familiar

they are not very vocal

they can communicate telepathically but usually only do that with their own kind and their witch (but can do it with anyone, if needed)

rarely get sick

when they do, it’s a death sentence, since their bodies aren’t used to getting sick

they all sleep at the bottom of the ocean as one GIANT mass, huddled together
