Remastered this post (gave my sketches more love lol) and now with all the Evanuris shrimps!
But I keep thinking on the idea after seeing solas spirit form how it looked like a Vallaslin, so playing around with the idea the designs (I got heavily inspired by the inquisition variant) were based off the Evanuris original spirit forms.
So I HC that when the first elves became corporal they tattooed vallaslin on themselves to remember their once spirit selfs (I made a mistake with Ghilan’nain, apologies 😓). However when the Evanuris rose to power after the war, they removed theirs and replaced others to “claim” them under their patronage,The markings of course lost their meaning something that was honoring ones old self was turned into something horrendous
Felassan my beloved, some Ancient Arlathan Prequel sketches and a hard boiled egg
While digging through the DA wiki I found a cool little tidbit from a Merrill side quest- Keepers and Firsts have sylvanwood rings depicting Fen'Harel tricking the Creators. I thought that was neat so I drew what I imagined it could look like.
Sylaise, Keeper of Fire and Home
Sylaise's design is based on a gorgeous model I saw while scrolling pinterest whose body was just screaming "goddess" to me.
I was also inspired by some ancient frescoes I was able to see recently on exhibit showing different queenly/noble fashions. The rope/see through shawl was inspired by that, as well as the waist wrap.
Sylaise's crown is the sunbeams and you can't tell me otherwise
The feathers in her crown pale in comparison to traditional regalia but I am not that good at feathers; also they're coming out of a lotus because I think it's pretty
Sylaise's pet snake is to represent her side as a prolific Healer
She wears shells on her shoulders to tie her to her sister (who wears abalone shells in her hair)
The bracelet is also made out of shells - saw a gorgeous set of a collar, a shawl, and cuffs made out of these thin white shells that were once used as currency by the Chumash people and other groups.
Rings given to her by June
Her war paint represents the curling smoke of burnt offerings of petitioners seeking her aid; she was one of the few to still honor those requests, even as the rest of her family turned their backs
edit: her costume also references what I previously made for her own High Priestess here

Evanuris' theater masks
After months of looking for a reference image that didn't exist, I decided to just make my own.
I pulled the Evanuris tree-toppers straight from the game files, where they're titled by name. The murals are from the Temple of Mythal in Inquisition and are associated with various codex entries for each god. Mythal and Solas don't have hats, likely due to the murder & rebellion, respectively.
my creature evanuris all together !!
