My chub definitely spills through the holes a lot more than it did the last time I did it, like five years ago

It reminded me of wrapped ham 🫣

• He was abandonned really young, and lived on the streets

• Once there was a circus passing through town and Eponine really wanted to go so he went with her (no need for tickets of course)

• And in the middle of all the acrobats and clowns there was a magician

• Aside from the fact that he was really well-dressed, Montparnasse found his tricks fascinating; and he saw how fascinated the public was

• Montparnasse always having been very intelligent and sneaky, he was very quick in learning most of the tricks he had seen in the circus and make them look effortless.

• The rest of his tricks he made up himself.

• He practiced a lot, and his pickpocket skills and deft fingers came in really handy for these tricks.

• He also found that the closer people came, the less they noticed what happened around them.

• Thus the thieving.

• It’s easy: all he needs is to use tricks where he needs to sit someone down or where touching them seems natural.

• A swift stroke, the watch is gone; a pat, there goes the wallet.

• His touch is like velvet, he has a silver tongue, they never notice until later.

• And if they do, they cannot prove it. Who would ever suspect the charming and talented young man dressed so elegantly?

• “It is amazing how complete is the delusion that beauty is kindness”.

• Montparnasse is the embodiment of that phrase.

• This is how he met Claquesous, an illusionist, in one of his street shows one day.

• Sous let himself be drawn in, and left with Parnasse’s watch.

• He hadn’t felt anything and only realised later that Parnasse had stolen his wallet.

• Sous is the one who introduced him to Babet and Gueul, and they sometimes put up hella cool heists.

• This is also how he met Jehan.

• The first time he sees them, he wonders how someone so breathtaking can have such a horrible sense of style.

• Jehan is one of the first people he doesn’t even consider robbing.

• He berates himself about it once they’ve left.

• But then they come back, and this time they talk in between his tricks.

• It happens again.

• And again.

• And again.

• Parnasse thinks Jehan must have the real magic to make him weak in the knees.

What was supposed to be a presidential meeting turned into lying on the floor
