A way overdue commission for the absolutely brilliant @revanchxst who has been extraordinarily patient with me as I worked on this and has been an absolute pleasure to work with.

Thank you so much for commissioning me and giving me the opportunity to go Full Drama on the lighting with these lovelies. It's super fun to just go absolutely nuts sometimes jfdklsa, and I got to do that here.

13. Pyrrhic

I think this current trend is pretty adorable so I have been drawing these as warm-up and wind-down treats for myself and I have drawn A LOT phew.

My progress on the 20+ heads in my collection is available on Patreon, but I will eventually post the finished products here.

JARAK EXPERIMENTS:

DIARY 1: Valkorion has given me free reign over his child. Death is the only line I am forbidden to cross. Fortunately, he has provided numerous subjects to test my more radical experiments on first. [Hence: People he will kill during his experiments, people who have no value for him.]

DIARY 2: The beast ripped a young man apart. He died screaming in front of Vaylin, but she made no move to help. Things are progressing well. [Hence: She did have such reactions before and now she doesn't have them, so she "progressed".]

DIARY 3: I made Vaylin observe our dissections today. Showed her each twisted, broken corpse from every failed experiment. I let her see the damage caused by the implants and chemicals. Now she knows what lies ahead. [Hence: He will use that on her too, but in non-lethal version to torment her and make her suffer enough to finally break.]

DIARY 4: Vaylin killed another keeper today. She must learn that defiance has consequences. Isolation. Fear. Pain. Sometimes the simplest tools are the most effective. [Hence: He wants to teach her that trying to fight with abuse causes even more abuses so she would stop resisting and give up... and it's not even adressing how isolation can affect human brain and lead human to the verge of madness.]

DIARY 5: Conventional methods only go so far. But the last subject I brought to the chamber went mad and clawed his own eyes out. I must recalibrate the machines before I use them on Vaylin. [Hence: Make them cause the same pain, but without triggering suicide attempts, so he would not have to worry that Vakorion will be mad at him for breaking the rules.]

DIARY 6: I thought Vaylin would scream. Or cry. Maybe even beg for mercy. But when the pain from the machines became too much to bear, she started laughing - a hideous, high-pitched cackle. The glorious sound of her spirit breaking. [Hence: I don't even have to say it, do I? He tortured her to the point when her mind broke and she started laughing at everything what was happening to her, at the pain, at the suffering, at the torture. EDIT: Actually I no longer think her mind was broken. I think it was put under such a heavy strain, and the only available coping mechanism to self-regulate available to Vaylin at the time was laughter, so she did laugh to save her mind.]

DIARY 7: I have returned to Nathema, years after I once helped Valkorion tame his child. Now Vaylin wants me to undo her conditioning. Failure is not an option. [Hence: He is deluded that he actually did a good thing. I wonder why Vaylin didn't crush his body and threw him into the Star Cluster after all things he did to her, because he truly deserves being teared apart by the massive gravitation strings for eternity.]

DIARY 8: Vaylin hunted Senya to the shores of Ord Mantell. She eliminated her mother's knights - but let Senya live. Is this a sign of familial love? Or a predator toying with her prey? Only time will tell. [Hence: He didn't even treat her like human being.]

THIS SICK MONSTER DID ALL THOSE HORRIBLE, UNIMAGINABLE THINGS TO VAYLIN AND YOU TELL ME THAT HE ALSO EXPERIMENTED ON FELIX IRESSO?!

IT NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED PROPERLY!

He deserved painful death, because of what he did to Vaylin already, so nothing changes, but I am even more furious now, because two people, who never deserved to be treated like that, were tortured by the same monster and had to go through hell, because of the stupid and not accurate scientific “ethic” of said monster, who didn’t even treat them like human beings, simply because he wanted to know more about the brain for the greater scientifical good, which for him excused every horrendous thing he has done to them. I am sick of this bastard. So sick that even seeing him dying didn’t make me any less furious.
