It blocked well enough, I’ll just have to live with having miscalculated and made the wrong size.
It’s cute! It’s warm and squishy! It knit up surprisingly fast! I will definitely make this pattern again!

Naniboujou Swoncho: on doubt and colorwork – Reclaimed Craft
Coming next Saturday! Our latest collaboration with @handmadecloset, the Herbalist Swoncho!!! Repost @handmadecloset Coming next Saturday 10/16 - Herbalist Swoncho 🐝🌹 Inspired by my love for nature and its medicine, and designed with @primroseyarnco Roan DK using 3 colors, this is for sure one of my most favorites to date. I hope you'll join me in knitting this coziest garment that will keep you warm this winter. Just a warning - you may immediately want to take a nap when you put it on 😆🥰 If you're coming to Rhinebeck next weekend, I'll be hanging out in my #herbalistswoncho at @primroseyarnco 's booth. Come say hello and let me help you pick some colors for your next project! 🤗 . . . . . #olgaputanodesigns #handmadeclosetdesigns #primroseyarnco #swoncho #sweaterknitting #strikke #strandedcolorwork #yokesweater #fairisleyoke #fairislesweater #fairisleknitting #thatsdarling #hyggeknitting #hyggelifestyle #cozyknits #rhinebeck2021 #rhinebecksheepandwool #rhinebecksweater #sheepandwoolfestival #knitsweater #instaknit #knitstagram #ourmakerlife #iknit #imakemyclothes #handknitsweater #knittedsweater #sweaterknittersofinstagram #sweaterweather https://www.instagram.com/p/CU0sc2ILEyQ/?utm_medium=tumblr
My new project: a so-called swoncho. Mix between a poncho and a sweater. Something cuddly to keep me warm.
This is the progress after two rolls of yarn. I'm amazed at how relaxing crocheting this thing is.
...
But I'm also glad I ordered what I originally thought to be a ridiculously high amount of yarn!
Interweave Knits, Winter 2021
The cover of this issue is the elaborate Adeline’s Cardigan by Linda Marveng which includes cables running both vertically and along the rectangular peplum. Having read my share of Ravelry.com project notes, I know someone will simply drop the peplum in favor of the short fitted jacket that comes above it. An intermediate project, it’s made of Manos del Uruguay in Alegria Grande.
While there is another sweater in this issue, the focus is on stoles and shawls including the voluminous one here in grey: Mary Shelley’s Shawl by Renate Kamm made of Sugar Bush Yarns Itty Bitty and Drizzle held together creating a halo of mohair as well as merino, silk, nylon, and a touch of cashmere. Which is only 2 out of 4 on the difficulty level.
The green shawl by Lana Jois is more difficult, 3 out of 4, and features an intricate eyelet and cable pattern done up in the Yarn Collective’s Bloomsbury DK. This semi-circular shawl is named Christabel’s Shawl. Lucy Wesnera’s Wrap by Susanna Ic is also 3 out of 4 on the difficulty scale and made from Madelinetosh Tosh Sock yarn.
In addition, there are patterns for three mitts, a swoncho (a sweater with sleeves that start below your elbow; being pretty fond of using my entire arm, I think it is not for me), another shawl, wrap, and a cape.
Find it at your local newsstand, bookstore, or online here: https://www.interweave.com/interweave-knits-magazine/

I really really hope that blocks out because eek the apex of my boobs is the worst place for that to start looking like hot garbage. (I really should have bought a longer set of circs then I wouldn’t have had this problem) 😬
Other than that I really love this, and I think I’m wearing it back to front in these pictures because I can see my travelling (supposedly invisible) row join spiral (which I also hope blocks out just a little more)
Also in hindsight I really didn’t need to go for a large. Medium would have done; remind me of that if I ever pick this pattern again (which is likely because it was fast and fairly enjoyable. I love a good Swoncho!!)
Trying out a swoncho with two colour ways of Sirdar Jewelspun. So far loving it (also the colour combos are somewhat giving me vibes of the nearest I’ll ever get to wearing ace rep)
