Quick little review for Save me Mr Tako: Definitive Edition. Available now on Steam and Nintendo SwitchSwitch: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/save-me-...
Here is a quick review for Save me Mr. Tako: Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch and Steam.Ā
boom reviews, Lonely Mountains: Downhill - After being cocooned in our micro worlds for so long, thereās now encouragement from the powers that be, to venture outside, maybe do a little more exercise. One of the preferred choices of getting about is cycling.
Now out for the Switch
Indivisible (Switch)
Playing Indivisible was like walking down the snack isle of a grocery store and finding a new snack and then when you bring it back to eat it and itās amazing you realize you have to tell your friend about it and when you do they say what was it like and you pause and discover that thereās nothing to compare it to........*inhales deeply*
Donāt get me wrong, Indivisible is not a masterpiece and there are some flaws but overall i loved my time spent with the game and I truly have never played anything like it.
Let me start with common ground.Ā Indivisible is in many ways a metroid-vania game.Ā It contains various 2D maps to explore and play in while discovering new locations and obtaining new abilities.Ā Overall Lab Zero Games has stayed true to the genre and done a fantastic job of creating a world that is fun to explore and jump around in.
Where Indivisible breaks the mold is in its combat.Ā I donāt really know how to accurately describe it because it is truly an entirely a new genre.Ā When encountering an enemy in the game you enter a battle sequence in which your characters are able to attack the enemy and vice versa much like a turn based jrpg.Ā Except itās not turn based? Kinda?Ā So like your characters have a limited number of attacks they can perform before they need to recharge, but you are completely in charge of how or when your team attacks.Ā Sometimes your able to recharge your attacks before the enemy does and sometimes your not and you have to take time to block.Ā Iām not really sure what controls this so I just attacked when I could and blocked when I needed too.Ā Thereās more to attacking than just pushing the attack button however.Ā The player has the ability to build his team around combos and performing these combos to juggle the enemies for massive damage.Ā In this way itās kind of like a fighting game?Ā You see the dilemma in trying to describe what this game is.Ā Itās like when people started calling gamesĀ āsoulsā games because nobody had done anything like it before.Ā Anyway the combat is super fun and engaging for most of the game but towards the end it does become a bit of a mash fest.Ā I still enjoyed feeling really powerful but I definitely didnāt need to try as hard.
Moving away from gameplay Iād like to mention the story and voice acting. (no spoilers) The story follows a young girl named Ajna learning about herself and her destiny through a grandiose adventure brought on by story elements that happen early in the game.Ā Overall i found the story to be very enjoyable if not a bit repetitive at times.Ā The voice acting, however, is flawless and amazing.Ā Every voice actor delivers their lines wonderfully and helps to add unique personality to every character you come across.Ā Special mentions go out to the writing and voice acting for Razmi who is by far one of the funniest characters in a game Iāve ever played.
I should also mention I saw some other reviewers complain in the spike in difficulty in platforming in certain parts of the game.Ā While this spike is totally present, I had no issue with it.Ā The game didnāt focus very hard on platforming for most of the playthrough and the really hyped it up at times but I found it to be refreshing and pleasantly challenging.
Despite some repetitive story telling and some bugs that I expect to be patched on the switch version, i throughly enjoyed what Zero Lab Games has created and was delighted by the experience the whole way through.
I give Indivisible:
Ā 9 Cute Tapir Rotiās / 10
