suggestion by @swiftboone! enjoy some sportarobbie valentineâs day chocolate hijinks! :)Â
*
It was that time of the year again â when spring was just around the corner, when the sun shone bright and the birds sang sweetly, and Robbie wandered through Lazytown with bulging shopping bags full of Valentineâs Day chocolate.
He couldâve done it without the bird making a racket and the sun in his eyes, sure, but nothing, nothing could beat the day when numerous rebuffed lovers would cast aside the fancy chocolate boxes theyâd gotten for their intended. Robbie had never really understood how a heartbreak could make anyone could lose their appetite, especially for candy, but he was not one to question it â merely to reap the rewards of other peopleâs idiocy.Â
Valentineâs Day was fun.
âOh, tough luck,â he commiserated in sickly sweet tones, pausing to gaze down at the young man on the park bench who had that tell-tale hunch, and who was also clutching a two-layer box of Belgian truffles. âWould you look at that, and on Valentineâs Day too. What a tragedy. You probably want to just forget all about it.â
âShe just- â the young man hiccupped. âShe didnât even show up!â
âI know,â Robbie said, shaking his head for good measure as he leaned down, gently prying the box from the young manâs loose grip.
âI call her and I text her-â
âBest you just move on.â
âBut how can I? Sheâs my whole life!âÂ
âHere, let me help you. â
âWait- â the young man lifted his head, suddenly becoming aware he was essentially being robbed. âWhatâre you- â
âHelping!â Robbie announced, stuffing the box into his already full bag. âBetter luck next year, Romeo!â
And he moved on, already looking for his next target. Valentineâs Day was a gold mine.
âRobbie!â
He froze, clutching his bags against his body, his feet recognizing the voice before his brain did. And sure enough, there he came â Sportajerk, strolling down the path in all of his glory. No, not strolling â striding purposefully, his brow furrowed and his chin tilted, coming towards Robbie with the kind of single-minded determination heâd never seen before.
Robbie immediately had a bit of a panic.
âI havenât done anything! Theyâre lying!â he squeaked, trying in vain to shove his bags behind his back. Nearly five pounds of chocolate was a bit difficult to hide.
âRobbie,â Sportacus repeated, stopping before him. He was wearing gloves, Robbie realized, and â carrying a very official-looking briefcase. What was happening? Was this a prank?
âYes?â he asked warily. Sportacus looked at him, opened his mouth, cleared his throat, and then opened his mouth again.Â
Then he lifted a finger, indicating for Robbie to wait, and put the briefcase down on the ground.
As Robbie watched, both fascinated and ready to flinch, Sportacus crouched down, clicked the latches on the briefcase and opened it. He pulled his goggles down. He reached into the briefcase, with his gloved handsâŠ
Robbie was just about ready to bolt or duck for cover, when Sportacus pulled out, very carefully, something that looked vaguely like a bar of chocolate.
âEhm,â Sportacus said, still kneeling on the ground, peering at Robbie through his goggles. He held out the chocolate. âThis is- â he stopped, swallowing. âThis is for you. I â I bought it myself.â
Robbieâs mind was drawing a careful blank, as he reached out, taking the wrapped bar.
He turned it in his hands, carefully.
âWhy,â he said slowly, âdoes it have pictures of fruit on the label?â
âIt has bits of fruits in it,â Sportacus said, sounding strangely eager. He stood back up, pulling up his goggles. âI got it from a health store.â
âAnd â what â flaxseed?â
Sportacus beamed as if Robbie had any idea what that was. He looked at the bar again. It just raised more questions.
âIt doesnât even say chocolate anywhere,â Robbie said, incredulously. âIt just says âcocoaâ and âhealth barâ.â
âCocoa is chocolate, Robbie,â Sportacus said, just a tad admonishing and Robbie felt briefly indignant that the man was trying to lecture him on the topic.
âThis,â he said, making a face for full effect, holding the bar with the tip of his fingers like he might actually ingest something through the wrapping, âis probably the healthiest candy Iâve ever received.â
Sportacus looked away bashfully, shifting from foot to foot, grinning.
âThatâs bad, you Sportanut,â Robbie added, a little irritated.
The change in Sportacusâ demeanour was shocking â it was as if Robbie had told him the town had banned backflips and installed a new tax on air ships.
His face fell, his sky-blue eyes round and lost and sad, his shoulders slumping like a balloon with the air let out of it. He swallowed, glanced away and then swallowed again, rubbing the back of his neck like he was trying to come up with something to say but was, for once, at loss for words â like Robbie had with one simple sentence rendered him speechless â and Robbie felt the most peculiar sensation, like someone had grabbed a hold of his heart and was squeezing it very slowly.
He suddenly desperately wanted Sportacus to go back to his stupid grinning.
âI- â was all Sportacus managed to say, his voice hoarse and small, before Robbie interrupted hastily. Â
âThat is to say â I mean, itâs good â because â uh, Iâm bad! So, uh, the best chocolate to give me would be â the worst chocolate. The number one. At being bad.â
Sportacus was staring at him, eyes wide. Robbie continued on, bravely.
âSo what I mean is â itâs good! You â picked the perfect chocolate, actually. Thatâs right. Just the worst. Mmm, yes. I am â going to enjoy this. So much. Especially the flaxseed. Flaxseed is my favourite.â
Sportacus looked uncertain for a moment â before his stupid moustache twitched, and he gave Robbie a tentative smile, the spark returning in his eyes.
âReally? You really like it, Robbie?â
âYes!â Robbie snapped defensively, clutching the chocolate against his chest like his firstborn baby. It was best to just lean into it. âI said so, didnât I?â
âYou did,â Sportacus said, his voice odd â tender, almost. âAnd if thatâs the case, Iâm glad. Ah â â he cleared his throat as if remembering something, and then said, very formal. âHappy Valentineâs Day, Robbie.â
âHappy â Valentineâs Day,â Robbie echoed back warily, feeling a little dizzy from the chain of events that had led him here. At this, Sportacus leaned in, and very, very carefully kissed Robbie on the cheek, before pulling back.
Robbie froze.
Sportacus just stood there, for a moment longer, smiling, and it was bizarre â and it was even more bizarre that Robbie just stood there too, an odd, nervous warmth washing over him, barely able to breathe - the corners of his mouth tugging tentatively.Â
âWell,â Sportacus said finally, clearing his throat. âIâd better go. Iâll see you later, Robbie.â And it felt like a promise, somehow.
Robbie watched as the other man picked up his briefcase, dusted it off, and then, with one last powerful smile, flipped away.
He kept standing there, for good ten minutes, still holding the disgusting chocolate. His cheek felt warm, and just the tiniest bit wet. Sportacusâ moustache had tickled his ear. His breath had felt hot against his skin.Â
Finally Robbie took a deep breath, shaking off the strange spell so that he could put the chocolate in the bag with the others. It wasnât like he was going to eat it, but it was still chocolate. It deserved to come home with him.Â
Maybe heâd just keep it around, for guests. It was good to have something peculiar as a conversation piece. Somewhere where he could see it. Maybe under some kind of a glass case.Â
Yes.
The sun shone. The birds continued screaming. Robbie Rotten, with two bags of chocolate, and a whole new appreciation for the day, made his way back home, humming under his breath.

So my cityâs Pride is this weekend and I was thinking a lot about my space daughter Fae and @swiftbooneâs pastel princess daughter Dea and was like âWhat if they got to partake in a non-human pride in Gravity Falls after the events of Weirdmaggedon to help bring the non humans and humans together and to eliminate the terminology of âmonsterâ to describe the more different and magical inhabitants of the area BECAUSE IâM SAPPY AND TERMS ARE IMPORTANT.
So there they are, being fucking proud of what they are bless them. *in OC hell just leave me here*
