These pastel cookies are delightful and colorful, satisfying both the eyes and the taste buds. The marbled swirls and sweet sprinkles make them ideal for special occasions or whenever you want a little bit of edible happiness.
Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. teaspoon salt. Assorted gel food coloring. 1/2 cup pastel-colored sprinkles.
Instructions: Put the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl and mix them together until they are light and fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs and beat well after each one. The vanilla extract should be added. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. Depending on how many colors you want to use, cut the dough into equal parts. To get the pastel colors you want, add a few drops of gel food coloring to each piece of dough and mix them well. Wrap each piece of dough in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for about an hour to firm up. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Using a small amount of each color of dough, roll them together slowly to make the effect of marble. To keep the pastel swirls, don't mix it too much. Make little balls out of the marbled dough and coat them with pink and blue sprinkles. Spread the dough balls out on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving a few inches between each one. Use the bottom of a glass or your palm to gently press down on each dough ball. After the oven is hot, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
