We feed The Horde, and other wildlife on the property, to keep them away from Dorian & Buttercup as they eat their breakfast. We are a cat-only shelter and often get donations of dog food we cannot use. What we do not donate to other rescues or people in need, gets fed to The Horde as a ‘peace offering’.

Dorian has been at the shelter longer than me, so unfortunately I don’t know much about them. The story goes Dorian arrived sometime in September of 2019, the same time Hurricane Dorian was making its way up the coast. Dorian (the cat) started off like all the other cats, in a cage in the main house preparing for adoption. Dorian was NOT a fan of this plan and made their opinion known by biting everyone that tried to interact. The management at the time made the decision to make Dorian an outdoor cat (which can be highly dangerous! Please do your research or dm me for discussion!). Dorian lives on the shelter property where we feed them every morning. They can often be found lounging by the patio door with their best friend, Buttercup! 💕
