You know, the one where Buhdeuce thought he remembered how he & SwaySway first met. Buhdeuce imagined himself as a Kung-Fu fighter for hire. Meanwhile, SwaySway was a young country boy fresh to the big city.

…but what if that happened in a parallel universe?

Just imagine SwaySway walking around Duck Town, taking in the new environment he’s in when he bumps into Buhdeuce, who was coming back from practicing his Kung-Fu skills. The two quickly take interest in each other and start having some small talk.

Next thing they know, they’re starting to get to know each other more as the day goes on. Buhdeuce helps SwaySway move his belongings into his new place, they get coffee at Starbeaks, and just learn more about each other’s backgrounds and whatnot.

Afterwards, the ducks exchange numbers to keep in touch. Days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months since that first encounter. Eventually, a couple of months into their friendship, Sway & Deucer take it to the next level and finally start dating.

Synopsis: Buhdeuce is experiencing one of those sleepless nights. Luckily, he’s got his sweetheart, SwaySway to help him get some rest.

*The Swamp Pad*

After a long day of delivering bread, SwaySway & Buhdeuce finally made it back home to enjoy the rest of their evening. Once finished crash landing the rocket van into the hangar of the Swamp Pad, the ducks hopped out and made their way up to the main house upstairs. 

Once they set foot in the living room, they were immediately greeted by the excited hopping & ribbits of their beloved pet frog, Jelly, who just couldn’t resist giving them dozens of licks to their faces as a testament to how much she missed them during the day. Afterwards, a couple hours passed before SwaySway & Buhdeuce eventually got themselves ready to turn in for the night. As SwaySway got comfortable in his bed and Buhdeuce in his nest, they looked at each other with loving eyes.

“Good night, Sway.” Buheuce yawned. “I loaf you, bap.”

SwaySway replied. “Good night, Deucer. I loaf you too.”

With that, the ducks rested their sleepy heads on their pillows and slowly drifted off to sleep, looking forward to another day of spending the rest of their lives with each other…

…is where this story would end if tonight wasn’t one of those nights where Buhdeuce’s insomnia decided to be such a bother.

It was the middle of the night and Buhdeuce found himself slowly waking up. He sat up a little before looking at the time on SwaySway’s alarm clock.

2:17am

Buhdeuce sighed quietly before laying back down, ready to fall back asleep. But someway, somehow… he couldn’t. He tried again… and again… and again for at least half an hour, but to no avail. However, before he could become more frustrated, he turned to look at SwaySway, who was sound asleep and… drooling a little bit. Buhdeuce didn’t like the idea of waking his taller bap in the middle of the night, but with how much Deucer was struggling to stay asleep, this was his best option. Plus, it’s SwaySway. He’s always felt a sense of comfort with him.

Buhdeuce climbed down from his nest and walked over to SwaySway’s bed, hopping up there and nudging SwaySway a little before speaking.

“Psst… SwaySway…?” Buhdeuce whispered.

It took a short minute, but SwaySway finally started to slowly wake up to see Buhdeuce sitting in front of his face.

“...Buhdeuce…?” SwaySway said in a groggy voice, yawning. “You okay, bap? It’s… 2 in the morning…”

“I know, but… I suddenly woke up and couldn’t fall back asleep. So… I was wondering if maybe… I could come to bed with you and we can cuddle for the rest of the night…?” SwaySway softly smiled. “Oh, Deucer… of course you can cuddle with me. You don’t have to ask.”

That brought out a small grin and chuckle from Buhdeuce. SwaySway lifted the covers and the smaller duck made his way under them. Sway tucked his smaller bap in and they both held each other, their downy feathers mixing and adding more comfort. The ducks quietly giggled from the softness and overall, just the pure happiness they feel with each other’s company.

SwaySway began to gently caress Buhdeuce’s back to help him relax more. As he continued, Sway began to whisper sweet nothings to Deucer.

“You’re safe with me, Deucer…”

“You're so precious… and you have such a big heart…”

Buhdeuce was loving this. He started to relax more and more in SwaySway’s arms, listening to his affirmations.

“I’m so happy to have you with me…”

“I’ll always have your back…”

“I loaf you… more than anything…”

As Sway continued his whispers, Deucer closed his eyes and basked in this moment of intimacy between him and his taller bap. He didn’t want this to end anytime soon. But his heart really gave a-flutter when SwaySway gave a small peck to his forehead. Oh yeah… he’s not letting go anytime soon tonight.

Speaking of soon, a small yawn escaped from Buhdeuce’s beak. It’s working. He was getting sleepier and sleepier.

“I loaf you so much, Sway…” Buhdeuce said sleepily. “I do…”

“I loaf you too, Deucer.” SwaySway replied.

To finish things off, SwaySway started humming a tune. It was their “Best Breadwinner” song. Finally, as SwaySway’s lullaby came to end, Buhdeuce let out one last yawn before drifting off and falling asleep at last.

SwaySway took in for a minute how cute and peaceful Buhdeuce looked sound asleep. He basically looked like an angel in his sleep.

“Good night, my love…” Sway pecked Deucer’s forehead one last time before getting himself comfortable and drifting off to sleep. The room was filled endlessly with love and comfort as both of them rested soundly in each other’s arms.
