Back in the day, I was working in Christian Radio when the PTL scandal erupted. Eventually, Swaggart himself got caught up in the rolling disaster that enveloped the Evangelical community, and that should have been the end of his time in the pulpit.
Yeah, right.
I'm sorry, but while it's true you can't prove a negative, Swaggart demonstrated he was an evidential black hole, that his actions were nothing more than a cynical money grab. "God" had blessed him with a gift for gab, a hateful message that resonated with wealthy bigots, and enough of an undereducated audience that they'd fall for it.
Somehow, I don't think he's headed where he thinks he is. Assuming he thinks at all.
