Early Effort: Omaha
Here’s one of my very earliest railroad photographs: it depicts a Burlington Northern switcher in front of the wonderful Burlington Station in Omaha. That’s South Tenth Street to the right; Union Station is behind the photographer. The EMD product is an SW1200 built for the CB&Q in 1965.

Peoria and Pekin Union Railway
Here are a few roster shots of handsome EMD switchers working for the Peoria & Pekin Union Railway. These were all taken in the vicinity of East Peoria, Illinois.
Number 402 is an NW2 (dig the curve to the top of the windshield there), number 602 is an SW7, and lastly, number 500 is an SW1200.

Still Working
Here is an EMD SW1200 working an elevator in Gibbon, Nebraska, along the Union Pacific mainline. It appears to be set up for remote control operation. The locomotive was built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1958.

I recently came across this unit working a grain elevator—along the Union Pacific mainline between Clarks and Central City, Nebraska.
The unit is an EMD SW1200 which was built in 1964 for the Kansas City Terminal Railway.
