sick.
My new cartoon for today's Boston Globe:
My latest for today's Boston Globe.
This was my very first political caricature. The teacher "framed" it (note the masking tape and staples all around - ??) and hung it in a display case in the school hallway. I got a lot of reaction to it and that stuck with me. I'd thought I'd lost this drawing but recently discovered it. 17 years later I met Jimmy and taught him "the weave" handshake (a shake where you interweave your fingers). This was something I did at the time with famous people I'd meet; a byproduct of doing so allowed me to learn something about the person by really getting a sense of their hands. Jimmy had working grandpa hands - tough but soft, like a weathered pair of jeans. Rest in peace, Jimmy.
