ooh boy - soren reveals quite a lot on social media, undoubtedly. a lot of personal things about him are out there, but they’re more general information. despite his transparency online, he’s quite aware of what and how he chooses to answer questions and show online - nothing goes beyond the surface level of what he’s comfortable with sharing, especially since he knows so many people are watching.

Q2: What kind of content do they like to post?

shitposting. his youtube, being his main focus, has a lot of song covers and the more frequent vlog. despite him having his camera rolling through a number of shitstorms, he only uploads videos that are lighthearted and silly - him hanging out with friends or doing something stupid late at night and just all the funny bits of his life. his twitter is mostly used for updates on his videos/responses to people and his snapchat acts like his more casual shitposting of whatever happens to him in the moment. ig is just all of his favourite pictures or whatever he’s feeling, tbh.

soren probably has a small list of people blocked on social media. being relatively known online, he gets his fair share of hate comments but he usually won’t block those unless they ever escalate to death threat levels where he can’t quite laugh it off anymore. also, eric. eric is probably blocked like everywhere if he can help it.

Absolutely nothing. Everything on Valerie’s social media accounts, from her posts to the people she follows, is carefully crafted. Mistakes can cost you dear - and she's known to be perfect, like a glassy diamond. Perhaps she’ll post about a certain cause if it’s likely to be popular, or promote town events she secretly despises (Emme’s little art classes come to mind) - but few things about it is wholly genuine. There are no throwback posts, no photos of family and nothing warm and affectionate. Hell, even her tribute to Eric was posted on the intern-run mayor account rather than her own.

Valerie doesn’t really care much for social media. Out of the “major” social media sites, she uses only instagram and twitter - and even then, sparingly. She actually has two accounts on each of those - her personal one (an example of which can be found above) and a ‘professional’ one where she (or an intern) posts in the capacity as deputy mayor. She’s far more active on her “work” one than her private one, purely because of her private and icy nature. As a consequence, most of her posts are screened and general at best - mantras to live by, expensive pairs of shoes and high-powered selfies.

Literally anyone who has ever disagreed with her - something that extends to her personal and professional accounts. Who wants hate in their mentions? Pass. It really doesn’t take much for someone to get blocked - sometimes, she’ll do it preemptively, simply by looking at their name, job title and/or location. On her professional account, she doesn’t have anyone from Suspiria blocked (although she’s silently unfollowed Eric’s now-inactive accounts). On her private account...it’s a different story. Eric was blocked after their first campaign together, with Eden quickly following after her “betrayal”. Recently, Jack, Acacia and Soren have joined the list - mostly because she has no interest in conversing with them - and would never want to give them the chance. In a note on her phone, Valerie has a list of “maybes” - people who are on the verge of being blocked/unfollowed. That list contains Roland, Caleb and if she ever finds out he’s digging dirt on her - Femi.

Adriana does not use her social media accounts for personal use. As a public figure, every move she makes is scrutinized by the voters. One small misstep would reflect badly on her and the entire administration she works for. And while some politicians post photos of their family from time to time in order to “humanize” themselves, Adriana prefers to keep her private life private. All personal photos are kept on an album on her phone, and all personal opinions are kept to herself. Even if she posts a photo that doesn’t appear to be political, her caption will most likely include a plug for one of her initiatives or causes.

Adriana doesn’t post too frequently, just whenever she wants to promote something newsworthy happening in Fable City or when the administration’s PR team asks her to make some sort of official statement, such as when Rousseau died. Since becoming a suspect in his murder, Adriana has not posted anything on social media herself.

Adriana has an account on most of the popular sites - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat - but they’re all for professional use only. Her social media accounts are simply marketing tools for the Fable City government, and she’ll post about things such as events coming up in the city, images of the Fable City community, or information about one of her own projects. Adriana follows all of the official accounts for the different sections of Fable City’s government, and will promote some of their content as well as whatever Eric tells her to post. 

Honestly, though, Adriana rarely writes her own posts on her social media accounts. That’s a job for the office interns, but Adriana has to pre-approve of every post before it’s put online. Everything written on her account is squeaky-clean and professional, and there isn’t a single meme or profane word to be found.

Adriana does, however, take time out of her day to respond to the citizens of Fable City who reach out to her on social media. Even if she is not the most popular figure in the city, it’s important to her that she attempts to communicate with the citizens. While she does scroll past the ones that are profane and mostly insulting, Adriana goes out of her way to personally respond to as many people as she can.

Adriana believes that it’s unethical for a government official to block their constituents on social media (looking at you, 45). Adriana has no problem if someone disagrees with her online or uses social media to air out their grievances about the Mayor’s administration. The First Amendment was written for a reason, after all.

Unfortunately, as a woman of color in a high government position, Adriana is occasionally the target of bigoted trolls and bots. She believes she’s justified in blocking them on the grounds of abuse; even if plenty of politicians are guilty of racism, misogyny, etc., Adriana has zero patience for it. She also doesn’t want her accounts to be affiliated with spam; anyone who deliberately tags her in inappropriate content will also immediately be blocked.

Caleb doesn’t reveal much on social media, just occasionally who he’s with and where and he usually posts things at a later time when it comes to Instagram. He also doesn’t add anyone he doesn’t personally know on Snapchat.

Mostly aesthetic stuff, though he’s known to post a “gym” selfie every so often to quench some people’s thirsts.

He blocks most people who try to slide into his DMs, he’s not about that life.

Femi’s pretty good about not revealing the important things on social media. He’ll talk about the fact that he has an interview coming on, that he’s working on a great story, but never really beyond that. Not until after whatever big thing he’s working on has been released. Femi’s a public figure in one way or another so he knows better than to use social media against him. At the same time, it is his personal accounts so he’ll have fun.

I mean... this is Femi. Expect lots of selfies, food, and pictures of his kitty ( ironically named Wolfie ). He’s also all about posting pictures from his adventures which means sometimes, he goes through the trouble of creating something or a the perfect set up to make it seem like he’d gone on an adventure. Majority of Femi’s content across his social media is used to make his life seem a million times more interesting than it actually is. If everything seems happy and crazy, less of a chance people will notice how much Femi thinks he’s worthless.

At the moment, Femi doesn’t have anyone block. He lives to see everything and everyone and have his fingers in all the drama. If he had people blocked, he’d most likely miss something. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t ever block someone. It would take threats to himself or other people he cares about for him to block someone on social media.

Not much - his instagram is half run by himself when he’s bored, and half by his PR team. Given his job and his status within the city, Roland has to keep his public posts fairly professional and private for his own safety. He never posts anything risky - and if he does by accident, his team will be calling him within minutes.

On Instagram, he usually posts about the latest developments with his mall - new shops, events, a new building. Other times, he posts about interviews he’s done, magazines he’s going to be in. Occasionally, he’ll post a personal photo with a friend or of his life (though mostly of his cockatiels, Buzz and Woody). His snapchat, however, is private and he only adds people that he knows and trusts, letting him have a little more freedom regarding what he can and can’t post.

It’s probably safe to say that he has a lot of people blocked, mostly those who openly criticize him on his social media platforms. It’s not good for business to have negative comments linked back to him, and his team tries to take care of that pretty quickly. On a personal level, it doesn’t take much for him to block someone either - he’ll be more than happy to block you if he finds your posts irritating.

Letty has never been the biggest fan of social media. She thought it was an interesting concept when they first became popular and definitely followed along with the trends, but never found herself regularly checking up on things. Letty always felt like she’d rather be out living her own life instead of following other people’s. She really started using it more once she started dancing as a way to entice people to come to the clubs she worked at. A couple of the other dancers said it was a modern way to get more customers, particularly ones who may have been willing to pay a bit more for special treatment. Plus,she got to show off the glamorous life she was living. She began using it more and more then, but all the posts were carefully chosen as a way to draw people in without letting them really get to know her. She was rarely unwise in any of her social media dealings. However after her brother was arrested, she stopped using social media as she felt there was little point.

Instagram was Letty’s primary form of social media before she stopped using it. She mainly posted pictures of herself and friends living it up in the city. She was particularly fond of posting more risque photos particularly ones meant to shock people.

Letty had quite a few people blocked. She blocked a lot of her old high school friends when they began commenting negative things on her pictures. Though she doesn’t mind negative things, particularly if it’s something she can reply to to put a person in their place, but the comments were ones that were just...sad. They all wanted to know what had happened to her and were full of pity. And she couldn’t have that sort of attitude dragging down her page which is supposed to show a young & carefree girl. Other people she’s blocked include former customers who turned out to be assholes or creeps and all the former dancers who didn’t come to her aid before she was fired from the club.
