Paying it forward in 2025 - #Environment
I have not posted on social media for a while because while the country feels like it is in turmoil, California was burning and good friends losing homes or living on fire alert, it just didnât feel right to share Q1 adventures and celebratory events in my personal life.
Throughout my travels from East to West, I noticed a common theme in the photos⌠the love of moving in the outdoors, nature, oceans, mountains, and most of all the Parks. We visited Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, CA. Alongside 7 of my closest friends, we explored the trails and marveled at the unique Rock Structures and Cactus throughout. The trails were barely marked, and only at the entrance to the Park did we see any Park Staff or Volunteers. As I read the recent news of the Government cutting jobs and funding to the US National Parks, one of the most coveted natural wonders of the world I just feel at a loss. What can I do from the northeast to convince our current President and the new Government officials how important this is to everyone in this country & the world? Â
Producing projects for the greater good is part of my DNA and reputation as being a âwoman of firstsâ... Throughout my Broadcast Career at MTV I remember the activism & shows produced with musicians, celebrities and new companies striving to make a difference. So now my SLE producing passions are paying it forward by joining local committees like the Charlestown Climate Resilience Commission, Volunteer efforts with RI Save The Bay, and advocating for clean air, oceans, climate, and the environment.Â
The media industry has changed so much, but we all have a voice, and while I am still active and healthy, I will continue to do my best. Â
