The medium of animation needs us more than anything now because the abomination that are the studios easy cash grab remakes. I still don’t understand how some people can call the live action remake of httyd the best ever, when it’s just down right terrible, but people are blinded by nostalgia. Same goes for Lilo and Stich, Ohana means nothing I guess so does the Releationship between Hiccup and Toothless when they don’t treat each other like equals. If we go on and on with paying for this emotionales shit, than the future looks pretty dark for animation. Can someone tell me how many original animated movies we will get this year? I just see one now and it’s elio, the others are either sequels of old IPs or awful remakes. The animation industry is in shambles because of these fucking remakes and now DreamWorks animation has joined them with one of their most successful IPs which just screams that animation is not only for kids, it’s for everyone but they had to follow Disney for money and butcher it into ugly live action. Same goes for Flow, Puss in Boots: the last wish, the wild robot, Spirit, the last unicorn, Toy Story, the lion king, Kung Fu Panda and many more. They don’t deserve the live action treatment at all because their legacy screams this not only for children it’s for everyone and you don’t have to be embarrassed of yourself to watch an beautifully, well crafted and written animated movie, we should stop treating animation as a lesser quality thing just because it’s animated. Animation has so many unique patterns to it, like the language of it through character designs, that you can create worlds and stories that aren’t possible to recreate in live action. You can but you will fail, as seen in most of the remakes. And it will get worse if we continue to support them, the httyd remake is just the beginning of DreamWorks Road down to Disney laziness Niveau. For me personally the httyd remake is a clear evidence for DreamWorks upcoming creativity crisis and this is really for what it stands for and nothing else. We need to push the studios more into making original content and not falling for their nostalgia nonsense, because this all these remakes are and all for what they exist. For nostalgia bait and easy money. They are manipulative, best example right now the httyd remake. Awful movie still some guys call it the best remake ever made because they are blinded by nostalgia and don’t see the laziness behind this just yet. No one will remember these movies after except for how horrible they were. This is why we finally need to stand up for animation and original storytelling. Don’t give them your money rather invest it in an new animated movie, if you are an animation lover like me.

Show the people in charge at these big networks that animation is worth investing in!!!
