Enola Holmes
I just watched a beautiful performance by Millie Bobby Brown and I just have to rant for a minutes. I love the mystery, the adventure, and the feminist theme throughout this entire movie. Enola is intelligent, creative, formidable, and wild. She’s a perfect example that women do not have to be the image of prim properness, but they can be free from feminine role society has planned out.Â
I also would like to say I solved the mystery way before the end of the movie. My goodness I haven’t been this right since Knives Out.Â
SPOILER>>>>Â Â
Please do not read this if you have not watched the movie. But I knew the grandma had to be behind everything since she was asking so many questions. The mom and the uncle also seemed too obvious, so I ruled them out at the start. It also would not make sense for them to go to great lengths to find him if they were trying to kill him they would’ve just kept up with the story he ran away and just have the assassin finish the job. At least in my book that made sense. I also knew the grandma would be the most shocking reveal.Â
I wish the mom’s reason for leaving was more deep. I didn’t really feel any emotion when the mom was standing in her room at the end of the movie. I thought they should’ve added more pieces to mystery, because the mom being a terr*rist was found out pretty early.
I would like to end this post with, “Supermen-Sherlock” was looking mighty fine. I felt Henry Cavil for the role of Sherlock was weird at first, but nevertheless he pulled it off better than RDJ so it’s win in my book.Â
