Environmental Justice is social justice. The same zip codes that constitute the CMI neighborhoods from the racist drug wars are the exact same neighborhoods that suffer the greatest and disproportionate impacts of climate change and environmental degradation because they are the least funded neighborhoods. The poor in this world suffer the most from careless treatment of our air, water, and soil. If you are ignoring carbon footprint to save a few thousand dollars in fees, you donβt really care about social equity.
