The floorboards creak under quiet steps. It's a sign that he's comfortable, because you know Tamaki to be able to slip around the house unheard, like a ghost dressed in well-worn cardigans and fuzzy socks.
He stops in the doorway, you can see him from the corner of your eye. Tamaki stays there, unmoving, and you wonder what he's up to as you flip the page.
You wonder if he thinks about the argument you had last week. More of a discussion, really, because you've noticed a pattern and Tamaki was reluctant to see it. You wonder if he's starting to realize you were right.
His head bops up and down, slowly, as if he's nodding to himself. You turn another page without having read a word, your focus now shifted onto the man just out of your reach.
You give him five minutes. Tamaki doesn't speak up once.
"What are you up to, love?" You ask then, smiling to yourself when he blushes.
"Nothing," he claims, leaning against the doorframe. "I was just wondering."
"About what?"
About your book," Tamaki claims, and you know he's lying, the burning red tips of his ears giving it away. "Is it good?"
"Fantastic," you claim, and he takes a step closer to you. You turn your head slightly to look at him. Tamaki's pouting, though he's trying his best not to show it.
"Yeah?" He leans against the backrest of the Couch, though even with all his weight, he doesn't manage to push it further into the room. "Would you-"
"Yes?"
He blushes. He looks away. You give him some time.
Finally, with furrowed brows and his lower lip tucked between his teeth, he slings himself over the backrest and drops into your lap.
"Pay attention to me? Please?"
You laugh, a little breathless from the impact. "All you had to do was ask."
-
A foot, wrapped in a fuzzy sock, nudges your leg.
"Yes?" You ask, your eyes on the words in front of you, though your focus is slipping.
"You're doing it again," Tamaki points out, stretching himself until his head fits under the book and he can blink up at you. "You're not paying attention to me."
You sigh in mock exasperation. "Who knew you could be so demanding?" You joke, but put the book away to kiss him. "I'm sorry I looked away from you for a second."
He pouts. "You can read," he claims. "I just thought-"
"No, don't doubt yourself." You wrap your arms around him and pull him close. "I love you. That stupid book can wait. My brain was just getting antsy, that's all."
"Mhm," Tamaki's quiet for a moment. "I mean, you could read to me, if you want. I like hearing your voice."

@dira333's request: “You kiss the back of my legs and I want to cry. Only the sun has come this close, only the sun.”― Shauna Barbosa, Cape Verdean Blues x any bnha character
only the sun
amajiki tamaki; fluff & hurt/comfort; dira my love im so sorry it took so long for me to write this but THANK U for literally the only bnha req of this entire event HAHAHAH i hope u enjoy!!!
30 under 30 bday event! (now closed!)
─── 環 THE FIRST KISS WITH HIM had felt like swallowing the sun — you’d never known something so simple as a kiss could fill so many empty parts of you, fill it in such a way that after (because there’s now a before and an after, the kiss being the precarious line in the sand now standing between worlds), you’d wonder how you’d gone so long without it.
There are parts of both of you that neither wanted spoken out loud, and yet you’d fallen into each other as easily as sunlight falling into the smallest of cracks in the pavement, as warmth seeping through even the solidness of stone.
Sometimes, he holds your hand in the dark; sometimes, he lets himself be held. It is the greatest gift you’ve given or been given in return. He says thank you in the way he laces his fingers with yours, like braiding the threads to a butterfly net with which you might catch the summer itself, not just the butterflies living in those flashbang memories.
“I don’t know why you’re with me,” Tamaki says (and not for the first time). He refuses to meet your eyes even as you reach out to take both his hands in yours. “But… I’m thankful that you’re here. It makes me —” he swallows, eyes downcast, “Think that maybe I’m doing something right.”
You resist the urge to roll your eyes, but you smile at him nonetheless.
“I’m with you ‘cause I want to be,” you say (for probably the hundredth time; you’ll gladly say it a hundred more), “And you are,” you insist, giving his hands a squeeze, feeling him gently thread his fingers between each one of yours.
He smiles like sunset, all blazing cheeks and midnight eyes.
You do your best to reflect his smile back at him as you say, “You’re you. And that’s always, always been enough for me.”
tamaki isn't loud about the way he loves — never has been. it’s in the quiet things. the careful ones. like the way your favorite snacks are always tucked into the kitchen before you realize you’ve run out. neatly restocked, slotted behind his tea or beside the rice cooker, like they’ve always been there.
he notices before you do. the missing packet of sugar snap biscuits. the last carton of your favorite yogurt. the kind of week you’ve had, the kind of comfort you might need. and without saying anything, he takes care of it — soft and steady, the way he does everything.
it’s not about the snacks, not really. it’s about the way he makes space for you in everything. the way he keeps you in mind even when you’re not around. the way he turns a quiet apartment into something that feels like being held.
you never have to ask. and he never asks for thanks. but every time you find something set aside just for you, there’s a warmth that settles deep — gentle, certain, like him.
Imagine having a sparing session with Tamaki. When he's activating his quirk, two huge chicken wings start sprouting from his back, and he's more or less ready to attack you. "Aww," you squeal, staring at your boyfriend in awe, "you look like an angel." Taken off guard, Tamaki lets his wings droop and buries his face in his hands. "Don't say that," he mutters, his cheeks burning against his palms, the training completely forgotten.

It was a crowded day out, more than usual since it was the first weekend of summer break and everyone finally had free time. The same went for you and your lover, finally having a break from all of the hero work, that’s why the two of you just decided to stay home for the day, not bothering to deal with a lot of people, not when it was that busy on the streets.
Tamaki laid on his bed, cuddling you and nervously staring at you and looking away pretty quickly after, being scared you might’ve seen him yet he couldn’t keep his eyes off you, you were so gorgeous after all, he was so in love with you.
But what if you caught him staring? Wouldn’t you think he was weird and a creep even though he was your boyfriend? Tamaki couldn’t help himself from thinking about these small things, not wanting to mess up any chances he had.
As minutes passed on, the silence in the room became louder and the air was thicker. The two of you had noticed but you didn’t wanna push him to speak and force him out of his comfort zone, knowing how hard some things were for him sometimes.
Tamaki on the other hand, was doubting and talking bad about himself in his head. Why couldn’t he just say anything? Why was all he could do just cuddle you but barely have the guts to look you in the eyes? Why was he not more confident in certain things?
Those thoughts kept lingering in his head as others started building up because of those, tears slowly building up in his eyes. What if you left him because he could barely cope with his social anxiety? What if he wasn't enough? Was he even enough?
He knew he loved you and didn’t wanna lose you but he didn’t know how to tell you, he didn’t know how to open up. It was such a surprise to him that someone as amazing as you stayed with him after so long.
Without even realizing, some tears were falling down and his grip on you was tightening, making you frown a bit as you looked at him, noticing the tears and the fact he was panicking, making you grab his face gently and rubbing your thumb over his cheek.
You gave him a warm smile, letting him know you were there for him without saying anything, giving him all the time he needed. Tamaki nodded a bit, knowing you were there for him always and held you closely, not letting go until he calmed down.
You continued holding him close to you, rubbing circles on his body and whispering sweet nothings, comforting him as well as you could. You might’ve not thought so but Tamaki thought you were the best at comforting him, it was one of the things he loved about you.
“It’s okay Tama.” You told him after he was fully calmed down, placing soft kisses on his face, making him smile a bit. “I love you,” Tamaki mumbled, looking you in the eyes and not realizing he said that out loud.
He was just thinking about how much he loved you, freezing when he realized he said it out loud, noticing your face having a look he couldn’t understand. Tamaki cursed at himself for being so stupid, already wanting to sink through the ground as regret creeped on his face, the poor male not knowing you always felt the same way.
“I love you too, I really do.” You smiled, making him blush slightly as you pecked his lips. You loved him? That’s all he could ask for as you comforted him, holding him closely and giving him soft kisses.
After being together for so long, it was the first time any of you said those words and honestly, it felt like there was no possible better moment for you guys to say it as he searched for comfort in your arms.

Thank you! I promise I'm drinking plenty of water today 💕 it's too hot to not lol.
Pairing: Tamaki Amajiki x reader
Genre: Fluff
“You really like her, right?” Mirio beamed across the table at his best friend, who had his head in his hands, looking positively defeated.
“Yes, but I don’t know how to do anything about it. What if she rejects me?" His hands pushed into his hair and tugged at the roots nervously.
The perky blonde shrugged, offering a supportive smile, "Maybe you don't see it, but I think she really likes you, so I wouldn't worry about that. You're still working that team-up case with her, right?"
Tamaki nodded, eyes still fixated on the table.
"Ask her out. Even if it's just for coffee or drinks or something," he stood, clapping him on the shoulder. "You can do it, buddy."
//that evening//
He had his eyes on you throughout the meeting, unable to stop himself from sneaking a peek at your cute face in between every slide of the presentation. As the meeting drew to a close, he could feel his heart racing, his ears turning a shade of pink as he psyched himself up to approach you.
He thought back to Mirio's words for encouragement and drew in a decisive breath, exhaling slowly as he strolled over to where you were still seated, scrawling something in a notebook while everyone else was ambling out of the room.
"Hey, Y/n," he smiled, looking a little flustered, but determined to keep his cool. "What are you up to tonight?"
"Oh, hi, Tama," you beamed back at him, fidgeting with your pen, "I, uh, I don't have any plans. Why?"
"Would you like to do something? Uh, w-with me, I mean?" He could only manage to hold your gaze for a moment, before he looked away, eyes narrowing as he braced for rejection.
"I'd love to," you watched as the last of the people filed out the door, leaving you two alone as you stood, "I was beginning to think you'd never ask," you giggled, stepping closer to him as he whipped his head up to look at you.
"W-what? Really?" His eyes were wide as he stared down at you, incredulous.
"Yes," you breathed a soft laugh, reaching out your fingers to brush against his, "I really like you. I've been trying to make that obvious."
"I, uh, I-I'm sorry. I'm not really good at picking up subtle cues or anything," he scratched the back of his neck anxiously, tapping his fingers against yours.
You grinned, standing flush against him now as you reached up your hand, pressing it to his neck as you kissed him.
He froze, paralyzed for a moment, before he melted into your embrace, carefully placing his hands on your waist as he closed his eyes and kissed you back.
"That wasn't too subtle, right?" You smiled up at him, your voice a soft whisper.
"No," he returned your expression, blushing a deep shade of red as he cupped your face, resting his forehead against yours.
@nenes-numberonefan & @alienaiver because of the amnesia Quirk
Getting this kind of call will never get any easier, no matter who’s on the other side of it.
“There was an accident at work. Tamaki got hit-” “How bad is it?” You cut Mirio off, already grabbing your keys. “Where are you?”
“Hospital. He’s got a few bruises, nothing more, but he’s got hit with a quirk. Recovery girl is currently with him, but he’s talking and he’s fine, okay?”
“Okay,” you take a deep breath, fight against the quivering of your heart, “I’ll be there in five.”
-
Tamaki’s hiding under a blanket.
You crouch down, eyes on level with the tiny hole that he kept, no doubt to keep an eye on everything - especially the man that claims to be his best friend.
“Hey, Tamaki… You probably don’t know who I am, but Recovery Girl told me that you got hit with a quirk that made you forget a lot of stuff. I get that everything’s a little confusing right now, so me and Mirio are going to sit back a little and let you ask the questions, okay?”
It’s only when your back is turned that you can hear him rustling, whisper out the question that seems to be plaguing his mind.
“Who is she?” Tamaki asks. “Your girl,” Mirio explains simply.
“My… girlfriend?”
“Wife, actually,” you correct him, turning back with a fresh cup of water. “Quirk’s superhearing.”
He looks up at you as if he’s questioning the existence of the Universe - before realizing that you can see him and diving back under the covers.
-
Tamaki doesn’t know who you are - not really. He does not remember how you met or who confessed first - you - or who proposed - he did - but he’s drawn to you in a way he cannot explain. Which he tries to explain to you in minute detail while holding your hand in the car.
“I don’t know,” he repeats for the nth time, “But I feel safe with you.”
Mirio snorts from the driver’s seat, but you lean into him, glad that he’s open to it now.
Twenty-four hours of Amnesia, they predicted, when they discharged him.
It’s a bittersweet spectacle. Tamaki is painfully anxious on his best days, though exhaustion seems to ease his mind a little as he clings to you.
He doesn’t even register the wall of pictures in the living room, sinking into the mountain of pillows he insisted on when moving together.
He’s asleep in seconds, leaving you awake and unsure. Are you allowed to cuddle him like you would if today was a normal day? Or should you stay away, let him set the pace?
-
There’s a difference between memory and muscle memory.
You’ve known about it, but knowing is not experiencing.
And it’s an experience for sure, getting surprised by a sleep-walking Tamaki who pulls you from your desk with ease, carrying you back to bed.
“Can’t sleep without you,” he murmurs into your skin so you hold him close like you always do, amnesia or not.
Flowers are for boys too - Tamaki Amajiki x Reader
Meet-Cute and Confession for @marti-mp4 for the Milestone Event Week 1
“Sorry to interrupt, but there’s another flower delivery. Could you take this one?” Your secretary Kimiko asks.
You snort but nod before stepping out of your office.
Her ex-boyfriend is pretty darn adamant.
The poor delivery guy doesn’t know what’s going on.
“I’m supposed to hand this to Hattori Kimiko.”
“And I’m her supervisor and I’m telling you she doesn’t want them. Last time he brought them himself, he’s gotten clever it seems. Can’t you take them back?”
“No.” The guy shakes his head. “B-But you can keep them? If they ask I’ll say it was delivered to the office.”
“Thanks. If he gives you any troubles, send them my way. I can deal with him just fine.”
He leaves with a curt nod and you look down at the bouquet in your hands. It’s not ugly, a dozen long stemmed red roses are a classic.
But you can’t take them upstairs and you don’t want to throw them away.
“Excuse me?”
The guy flinches away. He’s tall and dark-haired and you think he looks somewhat familiar. His ears are the cutest though, thin and long, reminding you of an elf.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t want to scare you. Do you want a rose? The whole bouquet maybe?”
“I-” His lip quivers.
“You don’t have to take it,” you ensure him. “Flowers are usually more of a girls thing but you looked…” You hesitate. “You looked like you could use some cheering up, so… what do you say?”
He still looks unsure as he takes them into his arms, peers down at them like he can’t really believe what’s happening.
“I do need to get back up though,” you apologize immediately. “I’m supposed to meet a client soon. Is it okay if I leave them with you? It’s a gift, so don’t worry about anything.”
“What’s your name?” He asks, voice a little rough around the edges. His eyes, a deep midnight blue similar to his hair, lock onto the sign attached to your blazer. He looks surprised but you don’t have time for that.
“Have a good day,” you tell him as you turn around, back to the elevator that will take you back to your office.
“You too,” he mumbles and you think that for what’s probably a once in a lifetime conversation, you didn’t say much to each other.
Maybe that’s why you’re still single.
-
The door to your office opens slowly fifteen minutes later.
You’ve used the time to prepare for your meeting, though now you’re frozen midway to the door at the sight of him.
He doesn’t have the roses with him, but he looks just as awkward as he did downstairs.
“I-I’m Tamaki Amajiki,” he explains with a slight stutter. “I do have a meeting here.”
“Oh, sure, yes.” You wave him inside. “I should have expected that, shouldn’t I? I’m so sorry I practically ran away from you, I didn’t know you’d be my meeting.”
“The roses are outside,” he explains. “I left them with your secretary.”
“Oh,” you hesitate. “Did you tell her how you got them?”
“Should I have?”
“No, it’s better this way.” You let out a sigh of relief, trying to explain the situation as quickly as possible when he looks curious.
“Anyway,” you clear your throat. “I’m glad you could make the time for me. Picking a PR Agent is a tough decision and I’m sure you have many questions-”
“Are you single?”
His face flushes a vibrant red before your brain fully manages to understand.
“I shouldn’t have asked!” Tamaki apologizes immediately, curling into an awkward ball in his chair.
“It’s okay,” you tell him, trying to calm him down with the limited knowledge you have. “After that whole ex-boyfriend story I can only assume that question is somewhat warranted. I am single. Are you?”
“Yes,” he mutters into his knees. “Sorry again.”
-
If that first accidental question had given you any hopes, the rest of your conversation does nothing to fan those flames.
Tamaki is shy, yes, but he’s also polite.
So polite that you can only tell yourself that his mind must have been on autopilot for a second, still frazzled by the flowers he’d been gifted or the story you had told.
-
“I’ll see you next week then?” You ask as you lead him to the door. “To talk through our strategy? And don’t forget to tell me who you’re going to bring with you to the Gala next month.”
“Can I bring you?” Tamaki asks, towering over you in the doorway. His cheeks are still flushed and the red suits him well. “My friend always brings his PR Agent. He cannot get a date.”
You laugh.
“Of course I can accompany you. But feel free to invite someone else if you want to. I won’t be hurt if you don’t take me.”
Tamaki nods before taking the roses from Kimiko, sending you one last look before the elevator takes him down and out of your sight.
“He’s cute,” Kimiko comments. “And those roses? I told him whoever gave them to him must have a major crush on him. He almost wouldn’t believe me but I can be very convincing if I want to be.”
You sigh. “Yes. I know.”
- - -
- The night of the Gala -
“Tamaki?” You call out, hoping your voice will travel through his door. “It’s me. Are you ready?”
There’s shuffling to be heard before the door creaks open just a smidge.
“I don’t wanna go,” Tamaki admits quietly and your heart goes out to him.
You’ve been working with him for a month now and while he’s not made any move or comment that could be interpreted as him having an interest in you, your heart didn’t get the memo. It beats uncomfortably in your throat at the thought of him so close, yet far away.
“I’m sorry,” you tell him softly. “I know there will be a lot of people. I wish I could tell you that you don’t have to go-”
“I have to, right?”
“Yeah,” you swallow a sigh. It’s one born from empathy, but you don’t want him to think you’re annoyed or exasperated by his anxiety.
“Look,” you tell him. “I know it’s not much, but I… I got you flowers again.”
“Why?”
You swallow thickly as you consider this. The truth is awkward to confess, but how could you lie? And to him of all people?
“I knew tonight was going to be hard for you and I don’t know, flowers always cheer me up. And I… I really like getting things for you, I don’t know.”
The door opens a little further. He’s dressed in a black suit with a tie matching his hair.
“I got flowers for you too,” he confesses quietly, before shuffling away, leaving the door open.
You take it as a sign to step inside and close the door behind you, the bouquet for him heavy in your hands.
Tamaki presents them to you with shaking hands and they’re beautiful, roses in all different colors mixed into a rainbow of fragrance and petals.
You swallow harshly before you present him with his own bouquet, all flowers set in the same shade of blueish purple that reminds you of his hair.
Tamaki smiles and although it’s gone just as quickly as it came, it lights up a fire in your heart.
“I wanna-” He hesitates. “I want to tell you something.”
“Okay.”
“We’re not going to be late, right?”
“No, we have plenty of time. I didn’t want you to get stressed with that so I came here extra early.”
He chuckles. “That’s… one of the reasons why I like you. You take good care of me.”
The words “That’s my job.” rest on your tongue but you swallow them. It wouldn’t be the full truth anyway.
“A-and I don’t want to go to that Gala and have everyone think that we’re something when we haven’t… talked about this yet.”
“Oh.”
His lip quivers. His arms shake. But he continues. You can only imagine how much strength this is taking him right now.
“I really like you and I want you to go out with me, please!”
His eyes are clenched shut as if he’s waiting for a rejection but your hands curl around his, squeezing tight.
“I’d love to.”
Tamaki’s eyes snap open again. “Really?”
“Really really. What a great coincidence that we’re already wearing evening wear. Now we can have a proper date.”
“A date,” he echoes like he can’t really believe it yet. “Wait. Tonight?”
“Why not?” You smile up at him. “No one has to know but us. Might take your mind of all the people around.”
His smile is back now and his hand squeeze back.
“If you want. It’s worth a try.”
-
“Suneater! Here!” A woman about your age pushes forward and blinks up at him.
“I’m Bando Misaki with the Musutafu News. How do you feel about tonights Hero Ranking. Will you make it into the Top 10?”
“What?” Tamaki blinks at her a little dumbfounded. She blinks back just as confused.
You step a little closer in case anything goes wrong.
“After all the good work he’s done in the last few months I wouldn’t be surprised to see him rise into the Top 10,” you explain when he’s still not opened his mouth. “But Tamaki’s a humble hero, he doesn’t predict his own greatness.”
“Oh,” he lights up next to you with understanding, repeating your answer in his own words so that they can use it as sound bites. He’s learned well .
“What are you excited for tonight then?” Misaki cuts in right after, not letting him off easy.
“My date,” Tamaki answers truthfully, his brain registering the words a little too late. He blushes a furious red and turns to leave, so you follow him, enjoying the dumbfounded look on Misaki’s pretty face a little too much.
