“i can’t stand alina”

i hate how the fandom butchered alina’s character so much (even the ones who claimed to care for her) bc every time i see jokes or incorrect quotes from the fandom that brought up alina for tokenism and dei points (as in like grisha inclusivity), it’s always alina doing something and the other characters being like “does she understand the concept/joke/challenge/what fucking ever.” sure, it’s for “comedic” purpose that alina is stupid and is the “anomaly,” but it’s so fucking annoying. they will make literally unfunny characters funny when alina was right there being canonically funny she would probably have succeeded as a stand-up comedian nowadays. like just bc her power was being mutilated and carved out of her body and dna and now she had to play housewife at an age as young as 18 which basically means she’s not doing anything revolutionary or making a choice feminism bc then she would have just did what was expected of a woman her age in that era and she spent her whole life being mocked that even at her ending she was mocked (by the servants she paid with HER money) for the paintings she made to cope with her ptsd, it still won’t change the fact that she is and will always be a girl with dry wit and goated sarcasm. like no, she’s not “soft” and “motherly” (where tf do yall even get that?), she’s a menace. my fucking depressed chaotic menace.

Something that haunts me is alina being defined by men even out of the books even me speaking eight now im defining her, and its so sad that its either the darkling and darkling fans trying to push that she was a bitch and it was her fault or when you search up alina you get mal as well and in the book 'Where's you tracker' like she couldn't do something alone even her and nikolai nikolai over shadows her at points its not always their fault but sometimes it is.
