spf myths (debunked) β.ΰ³ΰΏ*:ο½₯βοΈ
if youβre still skipping SPF because itβs cloudy or thinking sweating counts as "cleansing" β babe, itβs time for a reality check.
βοΈ myth 1: "i donβt need sunscreen if itβs cloudy."
wrong. UV rays donβt care about clouds β 80% of them still reach your skin. if you're not wearing SPF daily (yes, daily), you're handing out free damage to your future self.
βοΈ myth 2: "sunscreen makes me break out."
old school greasy formulas? maybe. but itβs 2025 β find a lightweight, non-comedogenic one. gel SPFs and Korean sunscreens are game-changers if you want protection without pore-clogging.
βοΈ myth 3: "i only need SPF when iβm outside."
nope. UV rays pass through windows. if you sit by a window at school, at work, or in your car β youβre exposed. sunscreen isnβt optional; itβs part of showing up for your skin.
βοΈ myth 4: "iβm already tan, so i donβt need SPF."
SPF isnβt about blocking your tan β itβs about blocking damage. sunburn is just surface-level β UVA rays go deep, causing long-term issues like premature aging and skin cancer, no matter your skin tone.
βοΈ myth 5: "if my foundation has SPF, iβm good."
your makeupβs SPF is not enough. you'd need to cake on seven layers of foundation to get the level of protection you think you're getting. sunscreen first, always.
real flex this summer? healthy, protected skin that glows because it's cared for β not because itβs screaming for help.
