Once upon a Summer Time. It seems like the temperature has risen to its highest degree of Celsius. The heat of the sun leaving us some skin marks of burns. Umbrellas coming out 1 pm till 4 pm, sweat droppings that could fill half-a-glass, the heat could be hotter that even bird’s droppings get dried in less than a minute. And      is just gross and true! We all sometimes wanted to get away with this nerve-wracking, raise of temperature (not to offend Africa though) and fly somewhere else where it is cosier and comforting. Somewhere we can savour our lunch and at the same time enjoying the ambiance of nature. I’m referring to a place where me and my family had been, a year ago. At Dahilayan Park, Bukidnon. It’s located at the top most part of Bukidnon where fog will meet your eyes and pinecone trees almost growing from everywhere. Uphill roads, blooming wild sun flowers, corn fields, pineapple plantations and hectares of banana trees are just some of the sights that you can pass into, before reaching the said park. And pretty much the kind of sights you want to have adventure with. When we’re still inside the car and we we’re halfway there. We can already feel the cold breeze brushing against our skin and earlobes. The sky was oceanic blue and the sun couldn’t be more yellow. I was kind of irritated because my sister won’t stop budging my hair and I didn’t notice we were already there. My father parked outside with a dozen of horses around, offering rides in exchange for a dozen of 20 bills. Anyways, I got out and tourists (who look obviously like a tourist) started appearing from everywhere. The temperature was chilly and I can see fog coming into picture they’re like the ones that we see from K-dramas. Fog-filled atmosphere feels. Me and my family covered comfy sweaters and jackets took a quick “groufie” where an array of pinecone trees can be seen in the background and parked vehicles on our sides. We grabbed our packed meals, beverages and snacks then we’re off to go. We paid for our entrance fees which costs one hundred pesos (Php100.00) regardless of the age, at the paying station. Which is by the way, accompanied by animal statues around the corner, gives you the jungle park kind of feeling. As we showed our tickets, they gave us purple “entrance stamp” on our wrist. We were inside! The place was like a mini Disneyland only with lesser Disney characters but with more fun rides and eco park adventures. Like Barrel Trains, ziplines, enormous Hamster Ball and trampolines. But before we get too excited about that, we need to find a spot to settle and fill our grumbling stomachs because we haven’t had lunch yet, and it was one o’clock. We finally found a spot in a middle of an aisle of wooden tables and benches, which are also occupied with people, underneath the swaying pine trees. Animal miniatures like pandas, lions, bears, hippos and crocodiles nearby are keeping us accompany which is fun. Every time a person passes by them, they would really make a stop and take photos with it. The ambiance was a perfect spot for adventurers and leisure seekers. It provides both fun and peace which is the perfect recipe for a holiday treat! It may be costly and far but it's all worth the wait and price. No regrets at all, well if there's any regret that would be not wearing a warm sweater or jacket. But it depends to the person actually because we all have different levels of temperature tolerance. Anyways we finished our lunch and minutes later we found ourselves hitching some cool rides and forest park activities. But majority of the time was spent in sight-seeing and immortalizing the moments in other words taking group selfies or"groufies". My mother seems to be getting attached with the whole photography thing because everytime she sees a good angle for photos she would say "dira nak picture mo diha, tindog diha dayun pose!"(take a picture there, stand over here and strike a pose!) It was exhausting and fun too. Dealing with some techy-parent issues .Yes she's a "one,two,three-post" kind of person. Redirecting the topic, The park have it all for you guys. Food for rumbling tummies? They have it in their Grill Resto. Though we didn't order anything there because we had packed baons, a typical Filipino family. But still, no one could ignore the smokey aroma of the grilling barbecue meat because you will pass through it if you wish to go to the inside park. And did I mention their Stay-ins? I mean their warm and cozy available inns? No,right I may be missing it all out because first, staying there for a day or two was never part of our plan. Two, we already spent a lot of cents malling and buying pre-loved clothes, yes pre-loved a euphemism for second hand clothes or also known as "ukay-ukay" before we could even arrive there. So yeah, we were on budget. Furthermore, in Dahilayan Forest and Adventure Park, at Camp Philips, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon you can have it all!It was such an adventurous, exciting and relaxing experience for me where I get to have a date with my family and mother nature.Dummdumms My Man
