Goal: read ancient Greek grammar

Let me tell you guys that I will not specialize in phonology in the future, Latin or otherwise. After the basic pronunciation rules I skipped the rest and moved onto declensions. I don't know why but it just confuses me, it's the same with Latin. And do I really need to read about laryngeals or post classical changes in the vowel system before my first declensions, conjugations etc? I hardly think so! Doesn't look like this book is made for beginners.

Also for some reason the pitch accents make me nervous even though Swedish has acute and grave accents too, this should come naturally to me. Oh well, I don't think my teacher will care much about how well I pronounce them.

No other goals done today, but I was far from idle! I went out to fika with some friends which included a guided tour of the historical house we were in, helped plan a surprise party, picked up some DVDs from a friend, took the bus back home to my town, returned a library book, bought groceries, cleaned the house's staircase (us residents do it one week a month each), made dinner, watched 1 episode of Orphan Black, and read out of the grammar book.

Gonna try this out even though I struggle massively with routines lol

Academic goals:

Read at least one page of Latin text per day

Read Greek grammar - a couple of days per week at least

Review Latin vocab and syntax - as many days as possible

Personal goals:

Hyping myself up here with the introduction to Seneca's letters, Stoic terms and concepts, on my lunch break! Like many Romans Seneca intended a specific meaning (in this case Stoic) of some words, like securitas (mental tranquility), and as I'll be reading some of Seneca this fall, I want to make a little list of his style and choice of words/meanings in preparation.

Joking aside, I am curious about what he has to say, both from a philosophical standpoint and from the situation he was in when he wrote it.

Also, Cicero's *ahem* humility is so effing hilarious to me. So modest. Just doing his job as a dutiful orator, writer, and upstanding citizen of Rome.
