You know, I have major issues with Dragonstorm’s plot (the fact that the rebellion against the elder dragons and the birth of the spirit dragons was told through a shitty play in one chapter so they had more time for planeswalker bs is infuriating), but props to the writers for looking at the Sultai’s lore and choosing to replace the horrible jumble of orientalist stereotypes and cliches with the closest thing Magic has had to real anarchy (domri rade does not count)
Like, they really had them overthrow their oppressors, dissolve the old hierarchies, establish a non-exploitative relationship with the environment, and develop a system of mutually independent but collaborative communities that work together thanks to mutual interest and respect
