genuinely i think having someone/people that share your heritage is so cleansing and refrshing? like of course, i love my friends and family who don’t share my desi heritage, but having someone that is desi and being able to exist with them is so freeing for me. we don’t even need to be talking about something related to heritage but just knowing that there’s that inherent understanding on the other side is amazing... like i know i’m never going to have to explain what i’m trying to say because they’ve experienced something similar/the same thing and they get it. idk what point im really trying to make but like. idk i think its just so important for people to have someone they can experience their heritage with and if u tried telling this to me a year ago i would have laughed in your face but. yeah idek man
