“I’m the one who’s gonna be looking after this tiny little girl, huh?”

I need a moment
I remember a post that started with a picture of a statue of Chiune Sugihara. Sugihara was a Japanese diplomat to Lithuania during WWII who, against the orders of his government, wrote visas for Jews fleeing Nazis.
The post had the statue and a small blurb, and someone else came in below to tell the full story of Mr. Sugihara, including additional photos.
It was a beautifully written, moving story, that I'm sure I reblogged. Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore. I've tried to search my blog using various search terms, but it's not showing up.
I'm afraid now that it might have disappeared in the Purge. It's a sad thing to lose such a beautiful account of history.
EDIT: originally said he was a diplomat to Poland, my bad. It was actually Lithuania, but the Jews that came to him were fleeing from Poland.
