NO! ( ok but, hear me out… steve running to billy after he collapses… )
To say that he didn’t see this coming was an understatement, honestly he didn’t think anyone saw this coming. But life was full of unexpected surprises, some bad and some good. This situation, however, he’d have to say it’s a horrific surprise. A surprise that had a horrible ending, one that he definitely wasn’t coming back from. Yet he supposed it was partially his fault, since his decisions that night lead to this current moment. If he only made a different decision then maybe this would have been avoided but he didn’t so he had to deal with the consequences of his actions.
At least in the end, Billy managed to do the right thing for once. Even if it was bitter sweet but as long as his sacrifice didn’t go in vain then that was all that matters, cause if it meant Harrington, Maxine, and the rest lived then it meant it was enough. Yet while his sacrifice meant their survival, it didn’t mean it was enough to make up for all the shit he’s done wrong. But at least the male had managed to make amends with Pretty Boy and his step sister, well was on the road to making things right with them. Hell the blond may even had a thing going on with the brunet, even if it wasn’t official and more flirtatious.
So when he heard the piercing scream of Max and Steve, he felt a tinge of guilt and remorse. His actions didn’t just have consequences that effected him but others as well, mainly the two screaming. And there was nothing he could do about it now, dying with regrets was horrible - dying at a young age was horrible but death was apart of life. And he had to accept that but seeing the look on Harrington’s and Maxine’s face, definitely made him want to curse fate for this. But still the Californian was glad it was him and not them, they didn’t deserve it. They deserved to live and be happy, he got what he deserved in the end but still he shot an apologetic look at them both before he muttered ❝I’m sorry❞ to Max.
Then Billy turned his attention solely to Steve, giving him a weak, mournful smile. ❝Is that you Harrington or am I dreaming?❞ He asked in between fighting for air, only because he couldn’t resist. ❝I should have told you this sooner and I’m sorry that I didn’t, Nancy is a dipshit for letting you go but I’m glad she did because she didn’t deserve you. I may not deserve you but you are everything I want, you are the only good thing about this hell hole Steve and I’m glad I got to know you. Just know you are the only one I’ll ever love and I wouldn’t have it any other way but you will find someone who deserves you, someone who couldn’t imagine life without you in it. Trust me, I know you will because how could they not? So don’t cry so much, smile. Besides your smile is to precious and beautiful to lose over someone like me.❞ Hargrove confessed before using his last bit of life to take the male’s hand and squeeze it gently ❝I’m sorry.. Pretty Boy.. I love you..❞ The male breathed out one last time, the last part barely even audible before his heart finally stopped beating.
